Same here, I surprised my wife with an Octavia RS and she made me sell it within 3 months. She never even drove it. More than anything she hated the badge. When I tried to explain "its a VW under the bonnet". Her answer to that was " whats the point of wearing PRADA under pants with Primark suit".

Before getting the MINI, I even went to WEBUYANYWIFE.COM.

Glad we bought the MINI in the end....

Ok, deal done. Thank you all for the info and advice, very useful. The car is a stock vehicle, orange with black roof, black 17" cosmos alloys and the bonnet stripes. Extras are chilli pack, radio visual boost thing and led head lights. Managed to get the monthlys the same as the original quote including GAP, cherished transfer and the extras.

That is the colour combination my wife will die for.

Would you mind me asking what deal did you get in the end?

Beauty is individual. Just like style. Obviously Minis have got that something that bang for your buck doesn't measure.

It's difficult to explain as her car was at least £2k negative so I put £1k in and they will clear the finance. The new one has a mini incentive for existing customers of £750 which is the deposit. So basically £1000 to clear the old finance and £1507 discount off the car and a £750 deposit contribution so £3250 off list, GAP and Cherished transfers thrown in.

Looking at Sept 26th for her birthday! The dealer have so far been upfront and honest which is refreshing.

Pro nav is a must IMHO and the leather really lifts the inside. Also dimming mirrors are very useful ...

Yep, folding and dimming mirrors we have, and the heated front screen.
Ours it totally over loaded with kit for a wee hatchback... But I can hardly say no to the wife when my car has even more!

Her current S has auto dimming mirrors and a heated screen and I think she may miss these features but the deal was so good. No parking sensors on the new one either

Does the old car have parking sensors? If it has getting a new one without is a recipe for disaster as she will forget sometime given she has been used to them.

Good quality sensors like Steelmate can be bought already painted in your colour for £50, simple to fit as well. Well worth a punt rather than a wrecked bumper or two. Also saves money on the insurance, 15% off in most cases apparently.

If you're cost consious why not get a Suzuki swift sport. Just as good to drive if not better and has all the kit for a much much lower price tag. Plus join the caravan club and get an £2k off list.
