Thanks for the info. I have long been thinking of these as I am out of octan and don't want to run the turbo any harder. Ignition system is the last place to gain engine performance. However, I have never really been able to understand how these should improve much unless you run really high boost and maybe even increased gap.

there really isn't any power to be gained. just more reliability depending on set up.

Lol. There suppose to have a high powered amplifier built in and better/longer dwell time. The latter being confirmed by my tuner.

I just didn't want to deal with the precision raceworks install and wanted to try something new. Car felt better after changing over, fwiw.

So I replaced my Spark Plugs only at 75,000km and the lesson learnt at 79,500km is I should have done my coils too. Check Engine light came on and it was the P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire, rough start up idle, and reduced acceleration.

Ended up going back to the OEM Delphi's and installed myself based on the videos here on the forum and YouTube. And what a difference! Much more responsive and even getting exhaust burbles in Comfort Mode.

Exhaust burbles in comfort mode is not necessarily a good thing unless you have that option flashed...

Newer Bosch coils typically drive better compared to worn ones. Technical review on the IP coils here says it's basically a factory Bosch coil that has the IP aluminum logo stamped onto it.

I'm having the same issue - apparently they don't fit my 2013 F30 335i, but they will fit 2014-2015 335i models. Would anyone happen to know why? I've been searching for Eldor coils that would fit my car but can't seem to find any.

Cars built up to 07/2013 have different fuel injectors and coils.

N55's up to 07/13 were PWG and after that they switched to EWG. I believe that's the reason they are different.

I had suspected it had to do with PWG vs EWG, but does that really make a difference for which coils you run? After much research, it seems that a lot of folks with my particular model run the same coils just fine.

Guys, my F30 320i after changing spark plug and did a timing chain replacement, is having a bit of a idle issue at cold start up. Its only for like a minute after that it seems to run fine. At one time I put the car in reverse right after starting and I can feel the car jerks a bit while reversing and this tells me its either the spark plugs or ignition coils are having issue. I am not sure how to correct this without changing either the spark plugs or the ignition coils. I guess the cheaper route is changing out the spark plugs first to see if they are the culprit.

Is there another way to find out? Will putting a code reader to the car produce some fault codes or something to indicate which bay is having the issue? It would have been easier if one of the bay is not firing up and testing out with one good coil or plug would do the trick, however, its only at cold start and goes away after a minute of warming up.

first off, you need to ask the question in the forum for your car/engine as they will know more about it.

if the check engine light is on you will have codes so checking them with a scanner will help.

it could be a plug issue, may be a bad plug, could be a bad install.. who knows without checking it. who did the timing chain, can you confirm that it's done correctly?
