440i Grand Coupe xDrive - Pre-LCI vs LCI suspension

Hey all - looking to upgrade the E90 with an xDrive 440i GC. I was really looking for a 2018+ for the updated suspension and new lights but found a great deal on a 2017 optioned as I wanted. Question is, is there a major difference in the LCI 5 point suspension with stiffened dampers vs the pre-lci suspension, for xDrive models? Did the xDrive models even get the update?

Sorry if this is a redundant question but I’ve been searching the forums and haven’t found a definitive answer. Thanks!!

F36 suspension differences - Orig v. LCI
N55 v. B58
Both with M Sport EDC, M Brakes, VSS, and both xDrive

FRONT
Different part numbers for the EDC strut
Same bump stops
LCI has slightly slimmer sway bar ends
Springs (tbd)

REAR
Different part numbers for the EDC damper
Same rear bump stop
Same rear sway bar
Springs (tbd)

Looks like fine-tuning for the different engine, plus some EDC damping tweaks.

Thanks for the info!

Wondering if it's a noticeable difference in-terms of driving feel?

Yes it is. The suspension of the LCI is noticeably improved, according to a number of (professional and amateur) reviews. This is equally valid for xDrive.

I can attest to this. We had a pre-lci and now have an lci. You can tell the difference right away in how well dampened the suspension is. EPS feels slightly different too.

2017 is b58 for F32/3/5, so it might have the "lci" suspension if it was driven by the engine change.

Has nothing to do with the engine. There is a wide range of engines available, not just 6 cylinder ones. It is LCI driven.

F36 (and I own one ...) is perhaps the best F3x variant. Enjoy every mile!

There is no room for "perhaps" in the above sentence 😉
