I have the same system. My music sound great. It's not going to be 100 percent but at least 98 percent close to the logic system

The double tilt with the iDrive knob works pretty well. Just be mindful of the speed of the double tilt, if you're too slow it'll just shift over to the right/left window instead of skipping tracks.

Music is great. I'm fairly certain these MMI units don't have a DAC and use the car's built in DAC.

Mine is under glovebox in F30 but on my next filter change bmw gonna see it so....
Thinking to move it under steering wheel

I was actually hoping that the MCU update would fix Android Auto Night/Day switch as currently mine is always on night mode. But from what I read looks like the community version is the the only way to go with the fix. But not sure if someone tried it already with those new Andream models.

After the MCU update are you happy with how the unit is working. I have just recieved my unit today and its a 2B also.

Working well so far, still having the same issue for day/night switch but other than that all is good, Wireless AA worked great with my pixel 4. Only thing is I have to manually connect it to the MMI wifi for AA to launch. Just remember to flash the firmware update first then the MCU.

New version v9.2.8.yl.b for Carlinkit NBT available on the 1st page (thx cossie1).

Changelog unknown.

There's now also a custom version of the already known MCU 20.06.02 available that can be flashed on the latest custom firmware v2.0.*.mod (thx dkeruza).
This is only relevant if you are running the latest mod version but not the latest MCU. Previously you needed to flash back to the stock firmware in order to flash it. Other than that there are no changes.

Are you sure about that?

I am using very often the Spotify just through the BT on my iPhone, in most through USB-BT, and i am hearing the voices from Waze or other navigation apps from background in car speakers.

Thank you for your support and updates really appreciate it!. Now with the latest update, can we flash v2.0.B0.mod & MCU 20.06.02 custom on the newer Andream headunits ? Currently running B_V1.0.2 & MCU 20.06.02

Someone posted a couple of weeks ago that you can flash Custom v2 onto the new Andream B units by changing the file name to GEMINI_PACK.BIN, but that by doing so you would never again be able to flash back to the stock firmware for that unit.

I had it not connected to carplay (not owe yet, still collecting info from you guys, but probably i will also get it).

I am just connecting iphone via usb and bluetooth (bmw is enabling something called bluetooth via usb). I can also pick for example Spotify by bmw connected apps.
In both cases, when i pick external USB or Spotify, i can hear all sounds from iphone mixed (spotify, waze in background or other navigation software)

But, there are multiple application where you can enforce the output, i am curious what options will be avaiable in that case.

Any difference between Bimmertech MCU 10.6.18.21 and MCU 20.06.02 custom (only flashable on v2.0.*.mod)?

Ok, yes in BT/USB with bmw idrive it's ok with waze of course, but with carplay Waze forces output and can't change , for music it's ok

I just got the andream version, and I finally got it all connected (had an incident with the display cable bending pins, but all fixed now) - I can see the BMW menu and everything like a factory system, but how do I access the MMI?

Hi all! I appreciate all of your responses to everyone here. There is a LOT to go through and it would be cool if there was some sort of FAQ since there's 192 pages. A few questions!

1. I have entrynav on an F48 X1. I'd like to get an 8 or 10" touchscreen for this, does the touchscreen work with carplay? (Seems no based on reading)
2. Is there any lag in the interface?
3. Someone said carplay starts up automatically, is that true?
4. I believe I read carplay doesn't switch between light/dark automatically, is this the case? Is this a default setting? My main concern is google maps here.
5. If I take a call, does it go through the OEM bluetooth/microphone setup?
6. Are there any issues using the idrive controller with it? Is the touch idrive controller better/same?
7. Do I need the external mic for anything or does the OEM mic work?

I'm considering the NBT EVO retrofit but it's a bit more expensive and I don't want to lose connected services so I've been looking more into this lately.

Is there any chance to do the same for MCU 19.12.04 or MCU 19.12.12? Those two are the only ones where I have working "back to NBT option" by holding "menu" button. Now I cant flash these versions with v2.0 - it says NO MCU FOUND (something like that).

By the way it feels like in New version v9.2.8.yl.b for Carlinkit NBT they have fixed phone calls quality, maybe someone can check it (if there is still a person like me who don't use MOD))).

so a couple niggles i have seen with the custom software.
when using google assistant it seems to use the phones microphone not the cars.
also the voice command button is not working for google assistant for me.

I guess google assistant is using phones microphone as I tested it and I needed to talk very loud to get a response from Google Assistant when I looked for an address in Maps.
