2014 BMW X5.
Steering wheels buttons used to control MMI unit before updating from 20.5.9.10 to 20.6.2 I used to be able to answer and end calls by pressing the "phone" button on the steering wheel, I lost that feature with the latest update plus voice command button used to allow me to control Siri. no longer working. Any idea? |

Just ordered my Carlinkit unit on Aliexpress. Can't wait to get it!
A few questions as I prepare for the installation (I have an F10): - For Carplay, is there any advantage to installing the custom firmware other than cosmetic changes to the icons and boot/update screens? I won't be using AA. Should I just update to the latest official Carlinkit software in this case? - Has anyone received the "Battery discharging while vehicle is stationary" message in iDrive? These cars are sensitive to power draws when the vehicle if off, so if the MMI unit doesn't power down properly along with the rest of the car's modules it could cause this issue. Thanks! cinergi |

Good to know that it doesn't seem to be an issue! My car also often sits for days at a time since I've been working from home due to COVID... Thanks cinergi |

Off topic.
I had a chance today to drive a Kia with a 10.25" infotainment system. AA wide screen looks better on such large screen but god, how it is even allowed to have touch screens on cars? Scrolling through songs, phones, the fact that you have to touch everything while driving and keep your hand steady, it's such an horrible experience vs iDrive. |

I hope someone can give me some advice.
I have been through more than 50 of these pages and wonder if the retrofit MMI is worth the upgrade? I have a 2015 F83 that has NBT. I own an iPhone X. Based on all the posts, it seems all the MMI options have some sort of issue and need a flash but still have limitations? If I buy a new Andream, Carlink, Bimmertech, or JoyAuto, do I need to flash any of these to work properly? Thank you in advance. |

Been enjoying the latest custom FW
Any thought given to the fact that the resolution/aspect ratio for AA is clearly still not quite right? Circles are not round, whole UI seems stretched ever so slightly on the x axis. How much more room do we have to play with this? Auto connect for AA is also not working for me, in the sense that I have to manually click Carplay MMI from my phone's bluetooth menu, and then it starts up. With my iPhone, it always connects as I get in the car without having to do anything. Is there any trick to get this behavior on Android? |

I have a Pixel 4. That does seem to be the issue, so maybe it's on the phone side, I'm not aware of any settings to change that. |
