Valvetornic Repair Gone Bad

My valvetronic system was replaced from a Indy Shop and everything seem well just a pricey bill until they told me the DME has an issue with controlling the new motor? They updated the DME and relearned the mechanics and when driven for 10-20 minutes it’s back on LIMP mode. They are reccomended a fresh new DME from BMW which is $1,700 on top of my new eccentric shaft repair. The conversation went along the lines of, the DME has problems controlling the motor and isn’t supplying enough or no amps to the motor resulting in the same valvetronic codes from before assuming it’s a DME issue. I need some answers to know what my options are and what is the best way to go about this. Thank you!

It is a common problem. The motor internally shorts and burns out the driver in the DME. There are repair services in the US that are pretty cheap.

But Bosch themselves have a repair service. They are the OEM for the DME.
