530d M Sport £399pm

This seemed like a pretty good offer to me:

£399 deposit, followed by £399pm for 47 months, 8k miles

Bloody hell. £17.2k deposit contribution.

I'm looking to change the F31, now coming up to 7 years old - either for the new 3, or possibly a 5, and that is a massive deal.
If getting it, I'd be taking the contribution and cancelling within 2 weeks : )

Agreed, that looks pretty good. Even if you upped the mileage and added a bunch of options, you could still come in under 500 quid for a lot of car.

Combined BMW + dealer contribution on my recent 540i Touring order was 16120. So looks like lots of good deals to be had. I think you'd need to move fast though. Advice from TRL was that they will stop production on the 5er very soon to retool the factories for the LCI.

Agree the Stratstone deal is very good but if I read correctly it's only on vehicles available for immediate delivery? If so it sounds to me like they're trying to get rid of pre-LCI cars that are either in stock with a dealer or on their way to a dealer (and hence the offer may not apply to factory orders?).

Good point, missed that. Either way, looks like you'd need to move fairly quickly.
I couldn't see any option packs listed on that offer either, but perhaps the actual stock vehicles might have some.

Sure they will have. From experience, Stratstone advertised the M40d as standard, but all cars had options on, wasn't possible to get a standard one in stock.

Although, they were pretty good, mine only really had M Sport Plus on it and they discounted that even further to try and stay as close as possible to the headline grabbing monthly cost.

Crazy! I remember when thousands of people (including me) jumped on the 330d M Sport lease deal at £400pm with £1000 deposit as it was such a mental deal, and that was 6 years ago!

My M40d deal is nearly double the cost of this, maybe I'm stupid and should just go for a deal like this next time and not worry about all the optional extras!!

Double, really?? Do you mean monthly payments or overall cost?

530d works out just over £19k for the 4 years term.

Well not quite, but getting on for double, think mine’s £33k over 4 years, it is a fully loaded M car though.

Yeah, but £8k is quite a lot of money though!

You got yours at the height of demand though.

With the offers last year mine works out at £29k for 4 years. But, £5.5k of that is for the increased mileage and £2k of options, which would be the same on a 5 series. So the real comparison is the original £499 in and £499 down which was the base offer. Which equates to £24k.

Still higher than the 530d which really is a really good deal, but nowhere near double.

Yes, I got a quote from TRL at the time, in fact it was based on Tim's quote I think. The difference in spend between the specced M40d and the RRS HSE Dynamic was pretty negligible at that time iirc.

Always a price to pay for being early in the cycle, but often worth the delta for the enjoyment. Exception being the 8GC which some buggers have got for buttons early in the cycle

True, and these pre LCI G30’s are at their lowest demand with the LCI starting production in July.

It's always an interesting choice, pay less and take the frustration when the LCI/new model appears or pay more and be current for longer. As long as the discount is still healthy (and yours was), I favour the latter, especially as I keep my cars a long time normally.

It'll be especially interesting this time around given the design direction BMW is taking. The 540i I've ordered has the full digital dash and seems to have the up to date tech. If the LCI gets a stupid grille I will feel like I've dodged a bullet and got the best of all worlds!

That is very true currently! An LCI 7 series came up behind me on the dual carriageway yesterday and it actually made me gasp, the grille was so hideous!
