JB4 - risks and issues
I have been reading a lot about JB4 here and although I have no intention to void my warranty and jeopardise the engine (yet), I wonder how high the risk on B58 is? Those of you who have experience with it:
- Are you using it in combination with MPPSK (or other mods)? - How many km have you been driving it for and how hard? - Have you had engine-related issues with it and what?

I am more interested in those who have used it for >2 years, as I don't normally change cars every 5 weeks )

If it helps, i made best of 410/426 on map 5 with just a bms intake, cg 5" catted dp, MPE which probably doesn't add hp, and 3 gallons of e85 mixed with a full tank of 91.

The reality is the JB4 has been on the turbo BMW engines for 12+ years now. If they had issues, I doubt they'd still be selling them.
I put one on my 3.0L Audi engine and insanely happy with it (it's been 3 months now). I went the Active Autowerke for my 340 (to be different), but I like the JB4 for the smooth WOT shifts. |

Just make sure you use the proper map for the fuel/mods you are using. I've seen a few b58 owners abuse the jb4(not knowing what there doing) and destroying their engines.

I just finished installing the JB4 with a autowerk catless DP and an AGP intake. During idle the car sounds like it is choking, even on map 0. I ran it on map 1 and 2 for a little bit and it was pulling fine, but whenever I park or leave it in neutral it starts to choke. Is this normal or did I mess something up?
