Not a fan of the bright red, but could see doing a burgundy with black trim.

Red interiors go way back. I like them all, as long as the combo is right.

It’s personal taste. I could ask the same question about people spending money on things that make their cars pop and gurgle. I don’t understand it.

I love the red interior on my 340i and will get it on my next car.. A white car with a red interior just does it for me (why? I dunno) but it does. My brother just bought a White 2018 Camry XSE (as a daily driver) with the red interior and it's a very vibrant red, You can tell it has a red interior from pretty far away. It's overall a much brighter and better feeling red leather than in my 3er.

I find exactly the same thing about Oyster - very popular, but looks like the front cover of a 1970s Barry White album. White leather, I just don't get it. I suppose that's personal taste for you...

Actually the only thing I'm not keen on about the red trim in the F3x is the red lower dash. The same area is black in the 1, 2 and 3, and looks a lot better.

I don't know about you but I would pass on a car that had a tan interior even if it was priced 25% cheaper than all the equivalents. That color just does not do it for me. Red is cool, brown is cool, black is ok, white is questionable.

So playing around with the new M4 configurator...what do you guys who like red think of something like this?

I know it's unlikely / probably impossible to get on a regular 440, but maaaaan...THIS looks gorgeous to me. More so than any monotone black / white / tan / brown / red / anything.

Depends on the exterior color. Something like that would look really good on a dark green

Looks great to me too. Thinking about the color spectrum ROYGBIV, this is just a small step away from red, so why does this become so much more acceptable to you than the redder hues done in the same treatment? Is it the relative chroma/intensity of the colors...the BMW red moreso, and this somewhat less?

Yeah I think so - the two-tone breaks it up more, it's not quite as in-your-face. Maybe it's just the gateway leather to red? Lol.

I'm all for black interiors. Brown can work if it's the right shade. Seen some that look like turd brown...
I'd take the red over the beige, it's more the shade rather than the colour.
Seen some BMW's for sale that are black with a white interior. Not sure why you would spec that colour combination but they don't seem to sell.

Bought my wife a 328d earlier this year. All the gearheads commented on was the choice of a diesel, until they saw the interior. Red really seemed to catch their eyes. It was the deciding factor for my wife when we were choosing a car.

It's not that I mind red - my current ride has red stitching and accents and I like it as a subtle detail enhancer, but...not as the main color.
Melbourne Red with Coral Red is my favorite color combination.

I agree with OP - way too "The Shining" for my taste, but hey.. we are talking about personal taste here. I like black with wood or aluminum accents or beige/saddle brown etc.

Looks like you're not going to have to deal with this in the future considering that the G20 only has a two-tone red leather as an individual option

Taste is, of course, individual, but I agree that it looks like it's painted in blood. I found 2 of really nice cars with red when I was shopping for my car and just walked past them.
It is painted in blood, sheep blood to be exact, to get the rich full red. Now you know

I like red, but I love bmw blues for the exterior. I chose black leather for keeping it clean. Black and blue looks real clean imo.

I cannot stand red leather and blue paint
