Why did people expect 5 series options? It's still a 4 series. Pretty sure there are no 7 series options in the 6GC.

Why did my comment get deleted? Not even an explanation or nothing.
As I stated earlier, little late to the party with this info! Us dealers have had this since the M3/M4 ordering guide has been available. We also received the 428i & 428xi GC guides. Those cars are not going to be standard with moonroof, power seats, etc as is the case with the 428 cp vs 435 cp.

Also forgot to mention that the power tailgate is standard on the 435 but is an option for the 428.

I am holding my breath for this car (or more specifically, the potential M4 Gran Coupe). That said, all the spy shots make the rear end look really bulky, and not at all like Harold Wood's render that shows a much more svelte rear end like that of the 6-series Gran Coupe. I sincerely hope it looks like the latter and not the former.

Speaking of engines, didn't Scott26/27 mention that this is the first car that would feature the replacement for the N55?
There might be more power to move that extra weight.... |

On the other forum someone took a stock 4000lb 335xGT to the track and ran a 13.5 at 104mph. So I would not worry about this 3500lb variant needing a V8. |

This vehicle blatantly usurps the Gran Coupé label because it is conceptually closer to the 3 Gran Turismo than to the 6 Gran Coupé.
BMW is probably embarrassed with this inconsistency and tried to keep it hidden as long as possible in order to not raise uncomfortable questions at the time when the 6 GC was marketed. Hence when people started to question the alleged 4 door architecture by zooming in on HD spy pics, Scott responded that it was actually a clever set of camo tricks imitating a hatchback opening on the ceiling lining together with fake window pillars and fake belt mounts... and that there is no way a BMW 4 door coupé would not have classical rear doors opening at the Hofmeister Kink. It will be interesting to see what reason he will come up with today. There could be technical reasons for this architecture, but I would rather think that the vehicle was deliberately designed to mimick the A5 Sportback instead of mimicking the 6 Gran Coupé, what a lame move. Hopefully, BMW will not follow that pricing non-sense with the 4GC and the 5-Series. |

Then let's put a tailgate on each and every BMW since it is more practical? Utility/practicality is the purpose of a Gran Turismo. A Gran Coupé is indeed supposed to add extra flexibility through extra rear space and extra doors for an easy access to the rear (which this car won't have since the rear door opening is smaller than it should have been), but it is still supposed to be a BMW Coupé like the vehicle it is based upon (= no hatchback). Nice and practical car? Absolutely. Just noting that labelling this as a Gran Coupé is dishonest and makes BMW's strategy inconsistent.

2014 435i Base Price: $46,000 Isn't $9K enough of a pricing space to put something in between? Or is the even LOWER base price of the 335i ($43,400) enough to make buyers skip the GC altogether? I think if BMWNA makes enough equipment standard they can start a 435 GC at about a $48-$49K base. |
