I Drive Keeps restarting

Hello

My 2014 idrive has just begun restarting randomly - spent a week down and back to cornwall in the car and no probs and then on Saturday it started.....any ideas?

Are you getting any messages on screen? I had a signal issue that was fixed by a software update.

Nothing at all it just cuts out and restarts

Try using it without your mobile connected.

Had exactly the same thing randomly start last week, often not coming on at all from start up. 2014 also.

On rare occasion it came on from start up I updated with latest software from Bmw update site I downloaded onto usb. Seems to have sorted it.

No dead easy. Just google idrive update and you'll get to the site.

Enter the last 5 or 7 digits of your vin then it'll give you any available update to download to computer or usb.

Stick usb in car under armrest then find update software sub menu in the options of idrive.

Really hoping this has cured the issue long term for me as don't fancy the cost of a new unit.

Maybe something gets corrupted on the idrive software so the update cures it, .. hopefully it's not a hardware problem.
