Anyone pass state inspection with BM3 and no cat?
NYS specifically? Wondering if the BM3 flash actually correctly zero's out the readyness bits..

I had to flash back to stock and reinstall my cat to get full ready state for inspection.
as far as I can tell BM3 tunes can suppresses the CEL to the dash but the readiness state never reaches complete. With custom tunes maybe more can be done, but messing with that part of the code didn't fair well for VW :-D |

It should be independent from the flash. It is only 4 wires and essentially is the middle man between the secondary cats and the car's DME. I believe it is a simple potentiometer that tricks the O2 sensor with the change in resistance.
I had it for my N54 335i and I had MHD flash tune. Looking into picking one up for the n55 335. |

I have the iO2 catsim, and before BM3 it would set the O2 ready after about 7 miles. So far with BM3, it's been 110 miles since last reset and cat, evap, and O2 have not yet gone ready. I'm going to flash back to the stock map and see if that helps. Gotta do it soon since I'm like 3 months expired and already got one ticket for it.

Got confirmation from PTF that BM3 does not put the car in readiness state for emissions testing as that would be illegal. All it does is suppress the light from coming on the dash.

This is correct PTF/Bootmod3 won't put your readiness state because its illegal, but we have ways around it here in Tri-State area see post #10 if you need more info
We simply do this on F series for modded cars to pass inspection but car has to be healthy of course, but why having to remove your mods to simply pass inspection is a pain and why we do it.
