My mate had a 45 mins test drive in a GR4 the other day and came away very impressed. Said it felt very lightweight, agile and ‘seriously quick’. Also said it seems to have a very distinct character, very different to the Megane Trophy R he’s currently got and the Mini GP1 he had several years ago.

Hmm now it seems I should take the GRY and profit. Oh dear @Tengocity do you know what's happening with the 350 Exige, thought I saw something from Oakmere saying it was discontinued but it was a very odd message. Like the 350 Sport is finished but the Sport 350 isnt? Maybe the other way around but seems a lot in placed on the naming there. |

My understanding about the current Elise and Exiges is that they're stopping production of them very soon. Some models have stopped already, so it's just what's built already. I struggle to get my head round all the models. You've got sport and cup models and then the various power outputs too, some were limited editions, some weren't.

Is anyone an Evo magazine subscriber? The car of the year 2020 edition has just arrived this morning, with a fascinating outcome and ranking I must say.
This years cars included the 911 Turbo S, the Cayman GTS, Yaris GR, M2 CS, McL 765.... pretty special year actually

Both days I've had a Porsche demo car it has p1$$ed down.
Heres the Chester OPC demo car, odd colour choice. Mostly due to weather but mainly due to enjoying the hour I didn't get out for almost the first time on a test. One quick shot while under cover at M&S. Cayman GTS 4.0 Manual Solid Black GTS interior and crayon contrast stitching 18 way seats Tens of other things I can't recall So, what do I think? Sounds amazing. What an absolute peach of an engine. The car had 600 miles on it so I disjt take to 7800 but up to 6000 plenty of times and yes it really does sing at that engine speed. Blown away by how easy it is to drive in low speed and in traffic. The test drive time of 3pm, just getting dark and near a Cheshire Oaks outlet, that has just re opened this week, means there were some congested moments and stop start traffic. It's a very very easy car to manoeuvre and the famous long gearing meant 1st was a doddle in that. Odd but hadn't considered that part. Most of my time in the car was in the dark and the drive was alone which I wasn't too sure about but glad it was an led usual for Porsche. Very few high speed corners but the even in the wet there was a lot of grip in the rear. The low down position and steering feel gives you a lot of confidence. The steering wheel too, a delight how thin it was, similar to the MX5. I didn't touch the infotainment but all the usual Porsche cliches are present and correct. Their button clicks are very satisfying indeed. Prior to the drive I was considering the CF buckets but the standard seats are already Sports Plus and plenty grippy for me. Not much else to say really as you've no doubt seen the online videos and reviews, certainly a 5star type of car and I'm not sure you can say £64 is a bargain but perhaps Vs it's GT4 bigger brother it is and even maybe the lowest Carrera I'm certain it would be able to hold it's own for less money. Obviously saying that not driven one and the 6MT isn't available in the base anyway. Chatting with the salesman there was the 2.5 GTS in the used section right behind us. I asked and he did confirm owners are tending to bail out of them. Also I see that if you spec an 'S' with every option the GTS 4.0 has it's only about £1500 less! Bonkers, they really want you to get that GTS. So yes, it's IMO the real deal. A car very worthy of being someone's last hurrah with the ICE and with a FOUR litre engine and THAT manual gearbox, what a package! Loved it! Oh, and yes. Order is placed. March 2020. Python Green as I love the bright solid colours and this is rare still. This is going to be a blast. Now onto the house. Main risk to the plan is Brexit and 10% Tarriff.

Sounds like you liked and admired it Chris, but I'm not reading in there a sense that you'll be ordering one ASAP?

Maybe, but I've just re-read it and still don't get the impression Chris is about to sign on the dotted line.

Brilliant! On the phone app I can't see it, but I've switched the lap top on and now I can! I am well stoked for you Chris! Python Green is exaclty the colour I would go for too, and another thing to tempt me towards the GTS, as not available for the Spyder or GT4 the last time I played on the configurator.

Had a message from the dealer I cancelled with today, offering my car again which is due in the next few weeks.
Maybe business isn't as brisk? Quite surprised. Thought momentarily about flipping it but nah just declined for someone else to take it.
