Nexsys n55-b58 coil pack kit problems

As a preventative measure, I ordered the Nexsys b58 coilpack kit and have been having issues with sparkplugs cracking and misfires. It seems to me that the HV boots and springs are a little short.

Recently I went to a shop and was told to just go back to the Elder coils.

Is anyone else having issues with these?

Yes. I expressed my concern about the HV boots and springs and they asked if the spring was burnt and I sent the pictures. Thats the last I heard.

I then later went to the place I get my plugs from and they told me to switch back to the eldor coils for this exact reason. I have to imagine I am not the only person having issues with this.... but maybe I am.

You need to run the b58 plugs with these kits

It might be hard to tell from the photo but that is a b58 coil.

I just got confirmation that there is a later iteration of boot and coil. They are going to send that our for me to try.

Honestly we have a lot of issues with these kits, same with pr coils. The only coil upgrade kit that we’ve seen not have issues is the vargas kit so far. Also make sure your tune is set for the coils as the settings between stock coils vs b58 is massive

Also you really don’t need upgraded coils until like 700-800hp

That kit looks identical to the Nexsys but for functionally irrelevant machining. Not sure if they changed the mouning height of the coils but the hv boots and springs look the same. That is the part that seems to be causing the problem for me.

I’m not to sure either on what they changed. Is the tune set for the coils?
