Unlike their competition, Pipercross have adopted multi layered foam technology for their air filters as opposed to cotton or paper. Why? Because foam has a larger capacity for filtration over cotton or paper. No flow rate or filter test comparisons by them or an independent testing organization, therefore difficult to determine effectiveness or validity of claims. More Marketing without meat. Seems to be the norm these days.

I've only read AFE claiming 33% more flow over stock, so Pipercross claiming around 30% would be 2nd in that comparison.

If this will fit an F25 X3, I'd happily test & log it against the BMS filter & stock airbox.

I just ordered a pipercross from mike's XPH website. I'll give a nonbiased review when it's in. My 2015 335i RWD Auto is 100% stock.

Pipercross filters are foam, which break apart over time. They are absolutely garbage.

Mine literally started falling apart and a piece of foam got lodged in my MAF. Who knows how much made it through the engine... I won't touch one of these again.

"flows better" means "filters less"

The only way to increase flow without sacrificing it's ability to filter out particles is to increase the surface area. This isn't that.
