KW V3 and Vorshlag Camber Plates

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
Hi everyone -

Recently got a great deal on some Ohlins R&T (been dying to try them out), so swapping out the KWs!

For sale is a set of F22/F30 KW V3's with Vorshlag camper plates. The KW's have been installed for almost exactly one year and have driven 15k miles. The Vorshlag camber plates were installed around the end of September, estimated 7.5k miles.

The whole kit is included here except the KW 2mm hex adjustment knob for the rebound (top), which is long lost ($12.99). Everything seems to be in working order and I have no complaints to report. Regarding settings, I had my car corner balanced upon installation at RRT and haven't adjusted them since. Note that the Vorshlag mounting plates can be converted to 5 bolt versions, just need to contact Vorshlag for the extra bolts.

Asking $1,400, which I think is a very good deal considering the original cost of $2,300 for the V3's and $550 for the camber plates. Shipping will be a bit extra, but can usually finagle a good deal. For those wondering, these came off my 2014 M235i.

Very good deal and an even better decision to buy Ohlins. Good luck with the sale.

they look to be in very good shape.

do you recall how much camber were you able to get out of the Vorshlag plates?

did your car see the track at all with the V3s? have the shocks ever been rebuilt at all?

thank you for posting.

The Vorshlag plates can add up to -2.5 deg of camber over stock (-1) for a total of -3.5 (in theory). Note that I also have F8X LCA's, so when my car was on the rack it was reading -3.0 degrees with the plates set in the middle prior to adjustment. I settled for -2.0 L and R with the plates in their current configuration which is barely tapping into their adjustment capability. If you look at the photos, I had the plates set on the positive side of adjustment.

Other than one AutoX outing, I did not track the car - I was exceptionally busy at work this past season.

The shocks have not been rebuilt and I have no issues to report. With only 15k miles on these units, there's years to go before the KW recommended service interval (75 or 100k, if I remember correctly).

Well I've only had the Ohlins on for 250 miles and haven't pushed them yet, but the feel remarkably similar to Bilsteins.

So far, not much a noticeable performance difference compared to the KW's, but that's expected at this point.

Bought! Almost pulled the trigger on some B14’s. Can’t wait to get these and have them dialed in.
