I mounted mine on the bulkehad as two pins where exactly in right place for a nylon nut and a lock nut

Ah okay thanks! Makes sense! Is that lower one where you grounded the HSD cable then? I think I can barely see it in that photo. Also, is there any guide on how to remove the trunk lining on the right side? Does the lining fit back okay with all that in there?

The camera cable is grounded righ the main red junciton box htats the one then runs up into the boot hinge.

Easiest way to take the sidelining of the boot for me was to pop out the seat back ,as dont have fold down seats. Then its just few grommets, go slow and it will just pop out

I finally received the "official" retrofit harness and it seems to me that the intent is to mount the camera module in the trunk/boot. The reason I say this is because the length of all of the wires are nearly the same.

With the module in the OE location, you'd need short leads for the three wires that plug into the head unit. You'd need slightly longer wires for those that splice into the wires in the passenger foot well. And finally, you'd need an extra long wire to run to the trunk to plug into the rear power distribution box.

I'm planning on installing into the OE location, so it appears that I'll need to peel back the wires on the harness so that I can plug them into their proper locations.

All of that said, does anybody happen to know the part numbers for the socket terminals for the three wires that connect to the head unit? It doesn't appear to be 61138369696, which I ordered for the two wires that connect into the harness in the passenger foot well.

I'd prefer to not have ~9 ft of coiled wire under the dash and since I have a crimping tool, I'd also prefer not to solder the existing contacts onto a shortened wire.

Quick question, and I apologize in advance if this has been asked before since I'm still currently in the process of reading through this thread.

For going the OEM route, would it be possible to retrofit without PDC? I think I've read somewhere that PDC can be coded out?

If OEM route without PDC works. Would it be cheaper to go OEM compared to aftermarket? Quick eBay and car-part search I'm seeing the backup camera itself for $60, and the module for $100. But I guess I still have to source the cables, which from what I've read so far is not cheap?

If going aftermarket, I've read multiple pots suggesting the emtronika kit from eBay? Or would the Bimmertech MMI be the better option for the full screen video?

Thanks

Hi Rexxor
are you sure the pin layout on NBT is the same? Please see attachment of original retrofit document chapter 3. It refers to the pins 21 22 and 23.
Funny thing it is referring to pins 21 23 24 in chapter 8.

Hi just a quick question.

I’m doing this retrofit currently and can’t work out where the module fits around the drivers footwell.

Could you help explain exactly where please or even better photos where?!

Thanks a lot

Does TRSVC appear right away or does FEM have to be coded first for the TRSVC to appear in the SVT?

Has anyone used the Bimmertech front camera retrofit? I am looking into this because I have so little clearance at the front and the parking curbs keep getting higher.

Hi there,

Did any of you consider building their own harness? I got my control units and camera with end cable connectors. Wondering if using "24/4 24 Gauge 4 Conductor Stranded Braid Foil Shielded Tinned Belden 9927" (https://www.ebay.com/itm/24-4-24-Gau...72.m2749.l2649) would help me make the HSD cable.

Hi All,

first post to this forum.

Trying to fit in OEM camera to my F34. Has anyone done that for F34? Looking for advice how to wire from the trunk door to interior, do I need to remove ceiling trim or is the a way to avoid it?

Do you know if the RHD and LHD have the same wiring? or mirrored? Coming from LHD and this is my first RHD.
Having that in mind, should camera wire go via right (drivers) side, or though left (passengers) ?

Thanks

Either ur connection from camera to ecu is no good (which was my problem, the wire could b no good) or u have to calibrate it or "learn" it in ista+

I think its Service functions > driver assistance > all-round vision camera and something along of line of learn/calibrate.

check all the way at the bottom...

I'm quite sure it's correct, but even without the wiring going to the nbt, it should still recognize with just power ground and the 2 kcans right?

Yea I believe it should. Good point. Do u have a multimeter to make sure ur getting power to it and check continuity with the ground? Also maybe u switched the kan wires around?
