I drive a 335 coupe and I noticed that a lot Nissan Altima and Maxima drivers act like lunatics. No signaling, right up your bumper. What's up with these guys?

Interesting. But there are so many camouflage panels on it that it's difficult to see what the back end looks like. I'll bet it's nowhere near as bad as the extra panels make it look.

Im not a big fan of sedans, but this thing is going to look soooo sick.
I dont understand why anyone would buy a sedan if this thing turns out looking as good as the shapes are suggesting.

This thing might be a hit in Europe....although i haven't seen any numbers to prove that. However, in the US, this thing is a dud. Needing to compare it to the sales of the 5 series wagon pretty much proves that point. In any case, I hope they have more success with the 3GT. They probably will since it will be cheaper than the 5GT and the popularity of the 3 series in general will help it. However, i still think the car is unnecessary in the US. |

Hmm, very interesting, this car obviously does NOT have proportions of the 5-Series GT, despite the "fastback" shape, it reminds more of the Audi A7 Sportback in proportion, which is a GOOD thing. Honestly, this car could go either way depending on how the final details of this car pan out, especially the true trunkline which is still too obscured by the camo to make a final judgement on IMO.
The deeper body sculpting seen on the doors/side panels is a huge bonus being glossed over by the trunk shape, seems to me it will be a big styling step up from the E90 -- assuming the same sculpting makes it to the F30 as well. As a replacement for a 3-series wagon-- im all for that, only because I personally would rather get an X3 then a 3er wagon, but thats the crazy american in me ![]() |

Give me a M3GT and I will be happy, I don't need the space in a SUV, but a little extra trunk space would be great, along with 4 doors. There is a niche need for this car, thats why BMW is making it, they are a niche company (or at least started that way). So many people hate BMW designs when they first come out, the only car I think they have that isn't great looking is the 5GT but this should look much better as they learned from their mistakes.

![]() Why do you think American cars looked the way they did forever, only recently were they forced to change and are starting to have some decent looking cars again. I noticed all the negative comments are coming from US residents, that is sort of funny, maybe its because we aren't used to seeing anything other than sedans and large SUVs, so anything in between is aweful! But I am all for change and love when BMW tries new things, its how the Z4 Coupe came about (horrible first try on the Z3 coupe, but great second attempt, too bad it was only made for a few years). |

I don't know, this thing reminds in spirit of the ugly honda crosstour. I just don't get why here in the US, if you want more utility out of a sedan, the marketers have determined you must want a suv or a hideous cross over, but not a wagon.

Why bother? Will be so ugly, just like the 5 GT.

[QUOTEZ=Jason;9205729]Attachment 500563We're excited to bring you the first spy photos of the 3-series Gran Turismo (GT) which will be released with the next generation of 3-series vehicles. With a sleek fastback trunkline and frameless windows, the 3-series GT looks to be much lower and sleeker in shape than the 5-series GT and appears to be generally sportier in nature. The 3-series GT will offer a simple hatch function rather than the twin trunk arrangement on the 5er GT. Spotted here is a 6 cylinder turbo version (335i or 335d).
Don't expect the production trunk shape to necessarily look like this. Heavy camouflage still covers the the entire rear end of the prototype, as well as the entire car. Some previous insight by Scott26: BMW intend to offer both turbocharged Petrol and Diesel Four and Six Cylinders and a Hybrid variant with the 3-series GT as well as xDrive. The customer can specify a 3 series GT 20d xDrive aswell as a 3 series GT 35i xDrive. The apperance of the 3 series GT will follow the 5 series GT and be totally independent from the 3 series as the 5 series GT declares it's independence from the 5er but inherits a bloodline shared between the two. Follow our F30-F34 coverage as we move ever closer to their release - http://www.bimmerpost.com/3-series/f30/ Attachment 500564 Attachment 500563 Attachment 500565 Attachment 500566 Attachment 500567 Some previous renders to compare with: [IMG]http://www.e90post.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=447933 |
