I have a very similar issue. I replaced both OFHGs. The leak did not stop. It is definitely from the oil filter cap. That being said, I replaced the oil filter with the o-ring provided from wix about 5k ago and its back again. This time I noticed the sucking jet hose (made from pvc type material) was cracked (not related I imagine) and the idler/tensioner was shaking a lot when the car was on. with oil all over the belt, alternator, intake box and generally all over the place, I have decided to replace the idler/tensioner, serpentine belt, oil filter cap (during oil/filter change) and the cracked line.
Hopefully you don't need to change the OFHGs, but its not hard at all. Definitely check the oil filter cap and oring though. |
