Anyone been to Marrakech?

Looking to have my stag do in feb and one of the few places that seems warm enough is Marrakech.

Anyone been before? whats it like? any excursions out there? any recommended villas?

I stayed at Villa Dinari which had a big pool, honesty bar and provided every (not sure about 'every' but who knows!) service or excursion that you could want. https://villadinari.com

What this warm enough restriction? And since when did stag night become stag week or weekend? My daughter is off on a hen weekend tonight till Monday.... think my stag do was 7.30 till 2am!!

So many things to see and do in the UK, who needs warmth.

Sorry OP can’t comment on Marrakesh. Agree with the sentiment of the above though, times have changed!

It wouldn't be my ideal place for a stag weekend but it depends on what floats your boat. Being drunk isn't something that's welcomed in the Medina in Marrakech but there's plenty to see and do. If drinking is your thing it's probably best to stay outside the Medina, go there to see stuff during the day and back to a hotel or villa near Gueliz as that's where the bars and clubs are. I've not been for a while but be prepared for everyone to try and fleece you and expect you to barter them down.

everyone's itching to get back on a plane, so defo looking abroad. Last few stag's have been Vegas, Cancun and Hvar.

UK is good but lacks the buzz?

We had a week in Marrocco back in 2020, we actually staying in the Medina(just off the Jemaa el-Fna) it's certainly not a place I'd associate with stag dos and frankly wouldn't feel comfortable having one there (depending on the lads).

if you're at a complex out of the city, that's another story.

In terms of stuff to do, Marrakech is predominantly museums and architecture; you'll be able to find loads of quad biking and desert driving out of town, but again it depends on what your group is like.

Ah thanks for this, we were thinking of having a private villa between us and go out to city for excursions etc, but don’t think museums appeal to anyone.

Back to the drawing board… hopefully today’s travel restrictions update will open up a few more avenues

Last Stag I went on was Hvar for 3 nights and had an awesome time. We've got Montenegro planned for next year.

I bet they weren't as hostile as they were in Madison square garden when the 20 fools I was with on a stag do decided to boo the US national anthem at the Lennox vs Grant fight.

I always think you have to be careful where you go on a stag night as things can get out of hand.

Loved wroclaw. 'Rynek' is awesome. (great for a family weekend etc)
There are underground beer dens and authentic breweries etc not to mention great Mexican and Greek restaurants etc.
Very friendly atmosphere. Was over for a christening ceremony(of my nephew) with family but once that was over enjoying the wine food and atmosphere was great.
Whilst walking in rynek a woman came up and asked if I would do an Indian dance as she was a bollywood fan.
I said yes. The buskers played some Indian music and the rest of the family including Mrs joined then the crowd joined. It was fantastic!

Marrakech is fantastic, did trips there two years in a row, if you do venture into the maze of the souks, just be wary of people showing you the way around, they'll want a tip and leave you stranded!
