CBS, Software Reset, Misfires?
Hi,
I found out about threshold being at 255% for brake pads wear sensor, and in order to clear fault, you need to reset it back to 100%, i have icarsoft pro diagnostic tool and it cannot do that, and dont want to buy new one specially for BMW, because i want to sell icarsoft b4 i buy anything else. Ive read in some older post that you can just do Software Reset from "secret" menu that you have to unlock with 5 last digits of your VIN. So my question is, does that actually work and might be a dumb question, but i finally got my hands on bimmer and im new to their stuff so constantly learning, but is Software Reset going to remove my tune? Im not sure how much it resets, cant find anything about it. Also I ordered new coils and plugs, should come in next week, car hesitates and what it seems like it constantly misfires under hard acceleration from around 2k RPMs to 3k/3.5k RPMs. At first i thought the clutch was slipping, but it grips and feels way too good to be clutch issue, had similar problem on audi a3, changed coils and plugs and problem went away, so im hoping its just a misfire, since i dont recieve any codes related to that, i did get clutch worn code, but im not sure if it was old one or new one, deleted it, drove it hard, and after stuttering it didnt comeback, so im guessing its old code or faulty code. Has any1 has come across something similar? It really feels like its just misfiring due to worn coils, since old owner seemed to not take good care of a car when he drove it around with disconnected vacuum line . Edit: Had a thought and just in case any1 asks, i cant really post a video of RPM stuttering/misfires since my back camera is cracked and has blurry view up until 2x zoom. Could try it with blurry or 2x zoom if thats good enough tomorrow. Last edited by raivis; 08-11-2022 at 04:23 PM.. Reason: Forgot to mention |
