Lowered Comfort Suspension Options
Currently running H&R Sport Springs on my 335i M Sport RWD with OEM M sport shocks (non EDC). Didn't really have any issues with this setup until I moved towards downtown Los Angeles and tripled my commute. Roads are pretty bad and can be quite uncomfortable, feeling all the imperfections while potholes are super loud and jarring. Waze routes me all over the place. Car is no longer as enjoyable to drive...
I am thinking I may have to sacrifice my great looking drop for some improved comfort/performance. I really have no interest in something that is adjustable - I would prefer something pre configured at an ideal rate, it's realistically unlikely that I would bother adjusting coilovers for this daily driver (no track). Semi-lowered comfort spring/shock combo: -I like the amount my H&R Sport lowers the car, but recently saw some praise for the Koni Special Active shocks (upgraded FSD). They have dampers that adapt to changing road surfaces to provide both comfort and handling performance, but should only be used with moderate lowering springs (Eibach, Dinan). Any disadvantages to this combo? -I have considered Koni Yellows paired with my current H&R Sports, but think those even may be too stiff for my needs. -Also have considered M Performance Suspension but not sure if this is my best bet with comfort in mind. Less of a drop than Eibach, I believe. Lowered comfort/street coilovers: -KW Street Comfort (~$1600) -H&R Street Performance (~1300) Any others to consider under $1600? The other thing I like about my H&R Sports is how they tuck my 437m wheels just enough to not poke. They poked a bit at M sport stock height. So I'm interested in something that will allow me to maintain a bit of camber to keep my wheels somewhat tucked. Long term: What's likely to last the longest? I'm turned off by the concept of having to pull off and rebuild my suspension after a period of time, so keeping longevity and minimal downtime in mind for my pick. |

I am running Koni Yellows with DINAN Springs, and the ride is comfortable IMO. I live in the burbs of Chicago, where I do drive into the city about 3 days a week, for 70 miles each day. I do encounter tons of road imperfections in my commute, and so far no complaints with this setup. I have been running this setup for the last 6k miles.

I got them dialed into the softest setting.

Maybe one to consider are the Bilstein coilovers, i ordered me a set of the B14s and i should have them this Friday so i can give you a review of them.
I use to have H&R springs on my 2016 Mercedes E 250 without any shock modifications , and it was pretty harsh over imprefections in the road but the ride over even terrain was really smooth and composed, so i think you need shocks that are designed for shorter springs. Since you already have the H&R springs , i would suggest buying some shocks / dampers , bump stops and you should be good. |

I had very good experience with KW Street Comfort coilovers.

A set of Bilstein B6 or B8 would set you right with your current springs.
