liqui moly oil

I recently used Leichtlauf 5W-40 and it made my oil temperature run hotter by 5 degrees. I swapped the oil to Castrol European Formula 0W-30 and my car now runs cooler (240 degrees'ish). I also used a bottle of Ceratec. Car seems to be running nice and smooth and purrs.

I think the best oils for our cars is Royal Purple, then Liqui Moly, then Castrol, Mobil 1 is quite over rated and it's not that great actually. I personally use Liqui Moly, I don't need Royal Purple because I don't track my car. That's my 2 cents.

5w-40 will have more friction than 0W-30, so it's not the oil brand that causes a difference in oil temperature.

Sorry, I forgot about Pennzoil platinum euro full synthetic, this is BMW LL-01 OEM dealer oil, its better than castrol, about same quality as liqui moly imo, I would get the 5W-40 over the 30.
