What coding is req'd for LED hi & lo

Hi,

I am wanting to try aftermarket LED's in place of my halogen H7 Hi & Low headlights. I've read through a bunch of threads, cheat sheets & stuff. Some say its plug-n-play but most say you'll have to code them to avoid flickering. I can find the FDL coding for fogs & turns but nothing for headlights. Some have referred to the fact you'll have to VO code them. I understand that VO coding has to be done first otherwise you'll wipe out all your FDL coding. Does anyone have a link to headlight coding instructions or could explain it to me in a way a coding newbie could understand?

Thanks

Low beams
FEM Body > 3061 > AL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG > Nicht_Active
FEM Body > 3061 > AL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG > Nicht_Active
FEM Body > 3061 > AL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG > Nicht_Active
FEM Body > 3061 > AL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG > Nicht_Active

High beams
In FEMBODY 3061:
FL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG > Nicht_aktiv
FL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG > Nicht_aktiv
FL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG > Nicht_aktiv
FL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG > Nicht_aktiv

'Is LED' coding may not be necessary. That changes the voltage from pulse modulated to pure DC, to prevent flickering, but if you have a ballast that will prevent flickering anyway. If you want to be sure code 'Is LED', it can't hurt.
There's no such thing as plug and play, more info on that here:

Hello BMW Experts!

I have a 2017 LCI with halogen headlights.
Hence I would like to put in an HID setup. I have been searching, but can't find the coding needed for running HID bulbs.
I would leave the setting at "is bulb", not "is LED", but do I need hot & cold checks?

TIA! Murf

HID does not require coding, as they are incandescent.
