What's your idle speed? N47/8hp
Hi all
Trying to pinpoint cause of my lumpy idle on my f10 and I think it's because the idle is a little too low. It currently sits just below 800rpm, perhaps around 770ish and will fluctuate a tiny bit. Would be interested to see what other folks' idle sits at so I can compare Many thanks |

A bit below 800rpm sounds about right. Mine starts around there and after it warms up and a bit of driving it drops a bit closer to 650rpm.
What do you mean by lumpy? Does the car sound like it struggles? It could be a maf issue. Or maybe it is cold outside? |

Hmm
I'll try and capture a video in the morning Once it's in drive the rpm needle will move up and down slightly and I can feel a vibration in the car which corresponds to the needle going up and down, not massively, maybe almost imperceivable but it's definitely there Car is at 125k miles and has recently had its EGR cooler replaced |

What month and year of production is your F10? Which engine? N47 or B47?
i-level of whole car (software update level)?

I'm still in the "getting to know you" phase with my 2017 328d and have been watching everything I can as I get familiar with the car. My idle speed is normally about 750 rpm when things are warmed up.
I recently did a trip to Colorado (from Wisconsin) and noticed that my idle speed in Colorado was about 850 rpm when fully warmed up. Returned to Wisconsin and the idle is at 750. My guess is it's an altitude thing and an adjustment for less dense air. Use as needed. Eville Rich |
