Before I say anything I want to make it clear I have no interest in football whatsoever and it will become clear as you read on.
Between the age of 5 years old to around 18 it was my privilege to know a lad called Curtis. At age 18 Curtis passed away in a car accident. I was acquainted with his younger brother but never really proper friends with him. Anyway, it was around the end of summer last year that I popped in on my mum to say hello and as I was leaving and getting into my car Curtis's younger brother was driving past in a very nice RRS SVR and remembered me and stopped to say hello. Turns out he was in the area to see his family too. He was very friendly and asked to have a look at my car and asked what I did for a living now etc. I reciprocated the small talk and asked him what line of work he was in. He looked at me like I had just landed on earth and said "Bruv are you serious? You really don't know what I do for a job?" I told him I didn't have a clue. He then informed me he was a professional footballer. I asked him if he was any good to which he replied "I've played for Tottenham, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and England." Andros Townsend for those of you that are wondering. I still don't know if he is considered any good. Hear mixed things about him from my friends that do follow football. Lovely fella though. |

A true story this.....
Someone I know was recently was in a fish n chip shop in Brighton and bumped into no other than Gary Glitter in there. He absolutely hounded the guy in front of others and told him under no uncertain terms to leave or else as his sort are not welcome. The guy sheepishly did exactly this and promptly left the shop. It was only when he explained the story to me later that night I reminded him Gary Glitter is still in prison!

I once met the lead guy from the Kaiser Chiefs....
Used to manage a shop and was playing around doing a Christmas quiz with my guys. This customer walked in and I was just chatting away with him and asking him Christmas quiz questions too! As soon as he walked out all my staff went ‘you do know who that was don’t you?’ Nope didn’t have a clue but oh well seemed a nice chap and he did take part! |

It does make sense if you were around in the M4cca days. Safe to say that at this very moment he is either creating his 73rd child, or in the clink. Nice bloke, just fucking loves shagging and hitting people.

Guilleme Ballague, if anyone knows who he is, watched Barcelona v Real Madrid in my house, with me and my lodger.
Long story, but doing a book signing in York and no pubs were showing this game as Liverpool v Man utd on same night. So jokingly I said you can watch it at my house if you want, and he did. I drove him to my house, later took him to his hotel. Top guy, ordered and paid for Pizzas for us all. |

Seen him last year .... Ricky Wilson. Went to see the filming of Tipping Point Lucky Stars (celebrity version).
Also Chizzy Akudolu and comedian Russell Kane were on it. (and Ben Sheppard of course) Went with the kids, quite interesting and somewhere to go for free.

One of my best friends went to school with Lars Ulrich, the danish drummer from Metallica.
They usually meet up when Metallica plays in Copenhagen. Went to a few concerts with him but still haven't met Lars:-(

I used to live in Highbury next door to Jesse Birdsall (Marcus Tandy from Eldorado). He is married to Gwyneth Strong (Cassandra from Only Fools and Horses). She offered me tea and biscuits once.

When I was young I delivered mushrooms to Bernie Clifton - he was staying in a house in our village. Does that count ?
Oh, and my dad used to play rugby with David Prowse (Dark Vader and the Green Cross Code man). I don't think I ever met him though.
