I was overtaken by a Discovery the other day who then braked sharply to pull across and make the slip road. His plate was 'D1CKY' (spaced like that).
I figured the plate had one too many characters on it!

I was in Liverpool the other day and saw BR0 NCO on a Mercedes convertible that was ram-raiding an off licence.

I will always remember from when I was a kid a car near to where I lived had "4 COF" as a number plate. Pretty sure that would be on the banned list nowadays!

Nicely done - a great way to join a forum! So when did you buy the plate/car?

I paid an adequate amount.

Had the car since 2019 and the plate for almost as long as that. I always wanted an M140i for as many years as they were produced. When I heard the new version (M135i) was going to be somewhat diluted, inferior and not RWD I just had to get one of the last M140i's. |

Interesting but personally I never get these plates. I'm more inclined to debadge a car these days than pay extra to put another badge on the same as the model designation 8 inches away.
I'm on the Toyota GR Yaris Facebook group an me I swear every car has GR something something. Wow. Congrats to the winner of course, just not for me.

But glad you are happy with your car and number plate, that is the main thing. I have two and neither are on a car currently! |

S2000 plate went up for sale a few years back, I think it went for around £3,500.
I don't begrudge private plates at all (happily have one that is personalised to me so I can move it to any car I own), but I do wonder like some people, why you'd pay so much for your number plate to state the manufacturer and the model number when debadging is the way forward.

Likewise with cars with M3 xxx etc that appear to be wrong car, I suspect the xxx part is more important to the driver. Not something I would do personally(mainly due to cost), but certainly understand why you would want numbers/letters you are forced to have stuck your car mean something to you or your car. |
