Audio Coding questions - S676A

Hi All,

This is my first time coding because I've upgraded from HiFi (S676A) to Harman Kardon (S674A).

I successfully upgraded the VO by changing SALAPA element 676 to 674 then I changed FDL settings below :

I guess I have successfully coding

1 - MultiChannel Active
2- Audio Variant hk_surrondsound (then changed to TopHifi)

however I don't see any differences in the sound and no SurrondSound option has become available

Navigation Unit has restarted while I've been recoding FDL to prove coding is updated.

What else do I need to change in FDL or is that all ? there are more than 6 settings under Audio Variant and Werte was 06 first then has become 02

Many thanks for your answers!

Did you code HU_NBT after changing the VO? That should update whatever FDL values are required for the new hardware. I don't know if other ECUs would need to be coded.

I changed HU_NBT_3000 to change audio settings after VO. I know VO change overwrites FDL but FDL has more options like I mentioned above.

It's my understanding that when modifying the VO such as adding or removing option codes, coding the ECU will automatically adopt whatever FDL changes are associated with that feature. Yes it will overwrite whatever FDL changes you've made but it should set them to the required settings. You can always save the original and compare it after coding the ECU.

it has more than 2 options for Harman Kardon Audio which is really confusing - I tried 3 of those but didn't see any difference in the sound.
