335i xDrive lowering springs?

Debating between going with the Eibach 05-22 kit (same as ACS?) or going with the RWD part number E10-20-031-02-22. I'm looking for about a 1 finger gap all the way around. Alternatively can go with the H&R Xdrive springs but those seem to drop more than the RWD Eibach.

Any issues running the RWD springs? Does anyone have any xDrive pictures with the 405Ms using the ACS springs or the Eibachs?

I've seen a lot of the Xdrive springs give a reverse rake type look with the front end higher

From reading many posts: Eibach for Xdrive E10-20-031-06-22
Not a big drop but great driveability and not too stiff.

Hi OP

I dunno if you have non EDC suspension, if you don't, I suggest going for coilovers or struts/springs combo such as Koni/eibach for example.

Springs only on non EDC suspension seems to lead to premature wear of the struts.

I think it's important to see the bigger picture and not only chasing closing that ugly xdrive gap.

hope it helps

I recently had Eibach xdrive springs installed with Bilstein B4 EDC and it raised the front end by 1/2in.

Ordering either the 05-22 or RWD eibach springs. I will measure and post results when I order and install the springs.

Here is a summary of the lowering spring drops, which might be useful for anyone looking to drop their f30 335i xDrive:

H&R Sports xDrive: 1.6" F & 1.5" R

Eibach E10-20-031-06-22: 0.8" F & 0.6" R

Eibach E10-20-031-05-22: 1" F & 0.6 R (This part number lists 1" & .8" drop in the front depending on the website, rear springs are the same as the 06-22). I also believe these springs are the same as the xDrive ACS springs.

Eibach RWD E10-20-031-02-22: 1.4" F & 1.6" R. Guessing the drop number is from the standard RWD suspension which is the same height as xDrive suspension. The springs seem to drop less than the H&R xDrive ones do in the front.

Do you happen to know the part number of the spring you used? FaRKle made a post of the Bilstein B6 & B8s raising the front in comparison to the OEM struts & shocks. However, don't think he said anything about the Bilstein B4s

E10-20-031-06-22

Purchased from Tire Rack a few months ago, best price at the time.

Confused...how does installing a lowering spring raise the car? And how just the front?

Eibachs are made to lower the front a bit more than the back.

It's not the spring that is raising the car in the examples. It is the strut/shock being installed. Pressurized dampers can do that it regardless of the spring

Remember that the post didn't say just Bilstein B4. He's talking about the Bilstein B4-DampTronic. DampTronic is the brand name of their EDC line. BMW uses the work "Adaptive" to mean EDC. Electronic Damper Control.

For those with BMW Adaptive suspension, the electronic front struts and rear shocks can handle lowering springs and don't get destroyed as easily as standard struts and shocks. You may need to swap out bump stops for shorter F8x bump stops.

Bilstein makes replacement B4-Damptronics if stock BMW Adaptives begin to leak fluid. The upgrade model is their B6-Damptronic. It's heavier duty and contains more Bilstein technology.

So the car will always be raised regardless of the damper installed? Or is this just a bilstein or just a edc damper phenomenon?

Is this a symptom of it being a "new" damper? It will settle down into stock position after a few miles?

Reverse rake isn't caused by aftermarket springs. Reverse rake is built-in to the stock xDrive suspension by BMW. Eibach is the aftermarket spring manufacturer who tries to eliminate some reverse rake by dropping the front more than the rear in their spring sets.

I used the Eibach XDrive springs (-06 part#) with my 335i xDrive. The drop was exactly as advertised: F0.8"/Rear 0.6". At the same time I swapped out the stock dampers for Koni Special Actives. A perfect combination!

I also installed the F80 bump stops.

So if Bilstein B4s are installed with eibach pro kit the car will ride higher?

I'm saying that if it's riding higher, then it's due to the shock and not the lowering spring.

That's assuming that the shocks and springs are all installed and seated correctly

Kooner23 ,

I also went through all the research and ended up with a set of 05-22...

Couldn't be happier...just the right amount of drop. Gets rid of the xdrive gap and low enough enhances the look/performance, but not slammed.

The eibachs also ride really nice for street driving.

Where did you get them?

Who has these in stock?

I order off of eBay for $310 CAD, coming in from Germany so I hope I don't get hit with duties on top of that. But was the cheapest price I could find for these springs

The springs should be arriving in the next two weeks or so (05-22)! Any shops you'd recommend around Vancouver for the install or did you DIY?
