2016 435i ZHP VIN numbers list
I purchased a 2016 435i ZHP recently from an out-of-state dealer. They had it advertised as a ZHP, so before purchasing, I tried to do some research to confirm this was true and it was worth the money, as the car was listed slightly above market value for a normal M sport. Mainly, I wanted to make sure the car had the LSD, as I could tell from the pics that it had all the accessories and M power kit, etc. But since this car was a manual, it wasn’t falling into the VIN range that people on the forums were attributing to the ZHP. I called BMW and they did confirm it was a ZHP (even though they only identify it as “Performance Package” over the phone). I asked them if they could provide more information on the 100 cars made, such as VIN range etc., seeing that they marketed it as a limited run "ZHP", but did nothing to really identify it. They told me they don’t give out this information. So, I decided to compile it on my own. So here’s what I found for any current or future 2016 435i ZHP purchasers. If you find any errors or discrepancies, please correct or add to what I’ve found.
So here it is: Of the 100 2016 435i ZHPs, there were 50 black automatics, 45 white automatics and only 5 white manuals made. And here are the VIN ranges (I’m only listing the last 7 numbers) and production dates (according to mdecoder.com): Manuals (5, all white): F774807 6/30/15 F774808 7/1/15 F774809 7/1/15 F774810 7/1/15 F774815 7/1/15 Automatics (50 black/45 white): K195794 6/30/15 K195796-K195804 6/30/15 K195805-K195816 7/1/15 K195818-K195833 7/1/15 K195834-K195872 7/2/15 K195873-K195887 7/3/15 K195889 7/3/15 K195911-K195912 7/7/15 So unfortunately, there’s no way to identify the order of the production (it is not sequential based on the last 2 digits, as many have assumed). The first 12 cars were apparently produced on the same day, the first car would be either the white manual F774807 or the black automatic K195794, but after that, there’s no way to know because BMW won’t give out the info. If anyone has any other info to add (or correct), please do! Last edited by mikeritz; 06-15-2019 at 02:22 PM.. |

Interesting information. Since the dealership lost the window sticker for my ZHP, I called BMWNA and they sent me an email confirming my car was a ZHP, the number (#31 of 100) and the options.

Yes I thought I had seen someone (probably you) was able to get specifics from them, but I had no luck. They emailed me a specs list but would not give out production information, even in general. Maybe you got lucky with who you ended up speaking to, or maybe there's more info on the newer 340 ZHP than the 435.

Since the VIN is posted right on the windshield, I have nothing to hide posting this.
My VIN is K195846, so it was built on July 2nd according to your list. And it is white automatic.

Bit of an old thread here but I purchased a white manual 2016 ZHP in the spring of this year and can confirm my VIN is one of the five you posted for the white manuals so the list appears accurate for those at least.
I had a similar experience with BMW NA when trying to verify it was a true ZHP beforehand. They couldn't confirm ZHP specifically but listed all the options and it checked out. Did not know there were only five manuals made though that's pretty cool. |

I wish there was a listing for ZHP in the black book pricing of our cars. The current black book starts with the 435i at $48150 base price. It then allows you add NAV ($950) and M sport package ($1800). So, black book is basing the trade value or retail sale value with a starting price of $51k. The clean trade is less than $25k and the extra clean retail is about $30k.
Again, these numbers are today's numbers, but based on a $51k car. If the retail price is discounted 40% from MSRP and trade-in is about 50%, I'd like to see the black book reflect this for these cars. That would have mine at retail of around $38k and trade in of about $32k. Following car sales for many years, there is no real value in limited production colors, or stripe packages, but there is always an upcharge for factory performance related options installed via an RPO code. Especially performance options that aren't available as a line item for the base model. Was LSD available for any 435i in 2016?

Since the window sticker was missing from my ZHP, BMWNA sent me an email showing that it was a ZHP and also the build number.

Congratulations, you are in rare company indeed! So only 100 ZHP 435i and only 100 ZHP 340i in existence.

This thread is about the 435 series ZHP, not the older or newer 3 series.

I'm not being snarky. The thread was started regarding the 2016 435i and you have more posts in this thread about your 2018 340i, then actual 2016 435i owners. I was just making a statement that you might be in the wrong thread if you want to continue discussing your 2018 car. Three of your posts mention you didn't have a window sticker and BMWNA took care of you. Good deal!

Bit of a revival with this post but I can confirm OP's information appears to be accurate. I have a manual 2016 435i ZHP in Alpine White and my VIN does fall within five manual VINs provided by OP.
I had no idea they only made five of these in manual. Seems silly for such a low production run but it makes mine a bit more special so I guess I welcome it. Car is a real joy. Not the best value brand new since it was encroaching on M3/4 MSRPs but I was happy with what I paid for it ~5 years ago. And insurance treats it as a regular old 435i so more fun + lower insurance is always a win. Here it is after I finished putting on new rotors, pads, and brake fluid flush the other weekend. |
