It happened... chipped Alpine White

As you can see in the two pics above, a slight scratch and two chips occurred yesterday. Despite being so minimal, this has driven me nuts and I have lost sleep because I take good care of my baby

I was hoping for some feedback in regards to whether it would require a body shop or some buffing/polish should be good enough.

Thanks,

You can't buff out a chip, it has to be filled with paint and then it's buffed out. Unless it's barely there a scratch should be filled as well, possibly with clear coat if it's not too deep.

Thanks for your response!

Since I'm oblivious to this, how much would you estimate in a range that you would expect to pay for something like that to be repaired?

I can't help you there, I do all my own work, so I wouldn't pay anything other than the cost of materials.

Get the Alpine White touch-up kit from BMW for $30 and do it yourself, easy.

Last I checked there were 13 Factory variations on Alpine White. One size will not fit all so 12 of at least 13 are SOL.

I have yet to find a touch up that will work on a 2013 F30 AW 335i that I was dealing with.

Dr Colorchip (who many recommend) was far to grey.

I ordered a kit that is the “Dr Colorchip” of EU but haven’t tried it yet as I do not hold out a lot of hope with so many variations.

Only “proper” method and match is professional.

Get the factory touchup paint kit, and then head over to Amazon and buy a bottle of Langka Blob Remover.

It works simliar to Dr. Colorchip, but as already mentioned, Dr. Colorchip will not be a good match...I'm speaking from experience.

By using factory touchup and Langka, you'll have decent results, and if you screw up, just remove the paint and repeat the process.
