The issue I'm having is after updating/coding the FA to include options 5AC and 5AP (as i just have the standard Xenon headlights),the FLA module is not showing up in the SVT list. I also now have a 'camera based system malfunction' for the high beam assist camera. Any help/advice would be amazing, as after a lot of research I still can't seem to work it out

Just for reference I have a BMW F22 M235i.
If you are sure to go right.
You try activating FA and read ECU does not read VCM.

I've tried editing the FA and then writing the FA back to the car in VCM, before VO coding and also tried just editing the FA and then going straight on to VO coding, but doing it either way still doesn't get the FLA module to show up in the ECU list when reading SVT.

I'm a bit lost as to what else to try as I can't seem to find anyone who has had a similar issue and don't want to keep playing around and risk messing something up!

Mirror with my FLA has K_Can2 and my car F10 also has K_Can2. You make sure your car and FLA mirror have K_Can2 like me, because I know there is a FLA mirror using K_CAN 1.
In Esys Expert Mode window >> Coding >>> Read Vehile Order (FA With 5AC) >>> SVT Actual window select read ECU (do not read VCM).

I'm 99% sure my car has K_Can2 wiring. It looks exactly the same as what roxxor has pictured. I looked up the mirror part number on realoem and it is compatible with all F2X models so it should be correct. The mirror has 6 pins in the plug, whereas the plug in my car only has 5 pins (including the 2 I added), so not sure if that makes a difference?I am getting a 'Camera-based support systems failure' High beam assist unavailable message, so it seems the car is picking up the camera is there.

I've attached some pics of the wiring and plugs if that helps. I've also attached a pic of the ECU's that I have listed after adding option 5AC and 5AP to the FA, and then selecting read ECU.

Would the FLA module show up if there was a problem with the wiring? As the only other thing I can think of is that for some reason there is an issue with the wire taps.

Really appreciate all your help so far

I also have the FLA Mirror like you, But my F10 doesn't have K_can2 on the sunroof, so I go like the picture I attached.
I am like you Mirror FLA equipped with 6 wires but 5-wire cars.
I have note No. 9 wire (purple ? ) The cord is not connected to anyone.
- I'm different from you, I found ECU FLA in SVT
- I am having this situation not resolved yet.
1. / Everything works perfectly (I tried driving on dark roads) after VO the ECU FRM, DSC, JBBFE, SZL, FLA, KOMBI With FA 5AC. But when I turned off the engine and started the car again, HBA did not work.
2. / When I accidentally choose <Edit FDL ECU FRM> in Esys (although I do not change the value in the ECU FRM), the HBA works (the HBA button on the SZL cluster turns on and turns off the working HBA) but when Turn off the engine and start the car again, the HBA does not work either.
I also ran out of ideas for this additional equipment.

sorry slow response
Yes, I cannot activate HBA with the HBA button on the steering wheel after the engine is turned off and the vehicle is turned on again
But HBA works after selecting Edit code FRM even though no parameters have changed in FRM.
In Ista + check the HBA function according to the instructions, OK does not report errors.

If someone is interested ... as have now a new F34 with stock HBA I´m selling a complete HBA retrofit kit, which I have used for my formes F34. It is including rear view mirror with FLA camera, baseplate, socket with custom wiring, steering wheel column switch cluster with FLA switch. Check details in the classifieds section here.

@XXM235i: Are you sure your wiring is 100% OK? Normally FLA should show up in the ECU list from the beginning on as far as I remember my retrofit some time ago. The "camera based system malfunction" is no evidence that your FLA is recognized somehow. I think this failure only appeares as your FEM is coded for FLA and is awaiting the FLA, but it can´t see it at all.

Only 5 cables are normal. Check your CAN connections. Such wire taps are not always reliable. I strongly doubt your wiring.

If anybody is wondering, if you have a kfas2 camera already but don't have HBA all you have to do is get the steering wheel stock with the HBA button and get it coded. I did it this last week and it works great.

Hello BlackGhost or anyone else who knows how to do it...

I have the same problem, no K-CAN2 wires in roof module. Did you route wires and how did you do it? Which connctors (pins) in FEM did you use?
I know it passed quite a lot of time, but anyway...

Thanks in advance

You'll need to tap in to the K_CAN2_H and K_CAN2_L at the FEM and run the wires to the roof module/mirror. Just did this today.

FEM Connector A173*8B:
Pin 50 is K_CAN2_H and is connected to mirror connector A60*1B pin 4.
Pin 49 is K_CAN2_L and is connected to mirror connector A60*1B pin 5.

Thank you very much. I did not check forum untill today, because I am doing steering wheel heating retorfit in the same time.
Your car is E91? Is FEM module (pins) and wiring the same for my F31?

Anyway thanks, I will let you know, If I succeed.
