Footwell carpet soaking wet!

After having my F31 parked outside for a rainy couple of days I noticed that the carpet is soaking wet in the driverīs footwell. I don't know if the water comes from the rain or from driving in the wet earlier.
I know there was a service bulletin for a drainage grommet but I bought my car used so I don't know if it has been done or not.
The car does not have a sunroof.

Where should I start looking to find the leak?
I have checked the vapor barrier in the door and that was not the problem.

I get something similar. Although nothing seemingly wet inside, when i open the door after some heavy rain (even after a couple of dry days) half a litre approx of water drains from the door onto the pavement!

If there is water on the door sill when you open the door, it's likely due to vapor barrier not being properly sealed to the door.

Yup. It wouldn't be a BMW without vapor barrier issues.
