How to reset service message. Seems impossible
Simple question. Watched many youtube on how to do this but somehow my car isn't that easy.
Runs fine nothing wrong with it but as it has gone over 90k km service it has a service message near the odometer as a red car. It only does it on start up. I've gone into the service reset part on the digital screen and it has 10/2019 (which it Is now 11/2019) but cant seem to change the 10/2019 to a future date. The car has been serviced at 90k km but has not yet been reset in the system. And have tried holding down the odometer reset but only resets the current km travelled. So does it need some kind of connection to clear this? |

Looks like you are going through iDrive, have you tried resetting from the cluster by holding the button down?

Hello BMW Experts!
I've reset my oil reminder this way, and I think it resets other reminders, too. Let us know how it goes; my brake fluid is asking for attention! Murf 1. Without pressing the brake/clutch, press the start/stop button 2. Wait for the service reminder to disappear 3. Press and hold the odometer reset button. You will notice your trip meter reset and then go back to the value it once was. Keep holding for a couple more seconds At this point, service values that can be reset will come up. Use the odometer reset button to scroll through the menu. 4. At the value you want to reset, press and hold the odometer reset button. "Reset possible" will change to "Reset?" 5. Press and hold odometer reset button again until value is reset 6. Press the start/stop button to start car or turn off car |

I can't speak to the vehicle check, as mine has not come due, but I've advanced the date on oil changes, brake fluid changes and state inspections in iDrive, no need to use the odometer button.

On the Control Display:
1. "Vehicle info" 2. "Vehicle status" 3. "Service required" 4. "§ Vehicle inspection" 5. "Date:" 6. Adjust the settings. 7. Confirm. The entered date is stored. |

I copied and pasted my last post from my manual. In defense of those who can't find it there's a lot of stuff in there and the index isn't always helpful in searching for specific items.

Oil reset unsuccessful
Hey there,
I am new on the forum. Been an Audi (2003 RS6) guy for the last 9 years. Just got a 2014 335i M-Sport. Love it! But, after following the directions on both the iDrive and the cluster reset methods, I am still currently getting this error. I found some info on another thread, but wanted to see if there was any additional input or solutions. Be gentle, I'm learning... lol Thanks in advance |
