I work for a company that ships via UPS and I see the shipping costs all day long. If they are shipping by UPS or FedEx, unfortunately the price seems about right. The posted rate on UPS for Residential Ground shipping (I'm assuming a 1 lb package) from there location to California (I guessed LA) is $13.53 without signature required. If they require a signature, the price goes up to $17.78. I never bought anything from IND but they may also charge a handling charge on smaller packages. USPS flat rate is much cheaper but the tracking system the USPS has is nowhere near as good as UPS or FedEx.

Same. IND was going to charge $45 to ship a pair IIRC. I just said Hell No.

It amazes me that people seem to forget that Hawaii is part of the US. Yes, Fedex and UPS are far more expensive to ship here, but USPS is the same for flat rate or priority mail.

It's a pain, but part of the cost to live here. However, paying $45 more for a couple pieces of plastic to be mailed is ridiculous so I declined.

The shipping rates that these BMW vendors charge is absolutely stupid... I run a side eBay business.. I always offer free shipping. At most, I pay $11.00 for a hefty 4 lb jacket to Florida from CA using FedEx or USPS. Typically, I spend about $5-6 per order for 12oz-2lb items. I don't get the whole "handling charge." It shouldn't cost anyone a cent for someone to put a well insulated item in a box with a pre-paid shipping label. Boxes at Staples are like 79 cents for the largest size in bulk. And the whole waiting in line thing at the shipping co. is BS. Most shipping companies will come right to your business door and pick up all boxes free of charge. I think I paid about $13.00 for my IND reflectors in shipping, which is about 7.00 overpriced. The worst company for shipping that I have seen is Bimmian and all of its sister sites. Not only do they get you for shipping to your home, but when you get their crap products, you have to ship it back to CANADA!!! ( a completely different country than where they ship from). Fck that company... Yep, I'm mad.

I'd like to go to the Staples you shop at. The one here hits me up for $4-5 per box. Same with UHaul and FedEx/Kinkos.

UPS charges $3 per pickup if you don't have a regular pickup service, so it ain't free. USPS won't pick up at all if you aren't shipping Priority or Express.

I was speaking business shipping rates not an individual ship your mom a new coffee pot rate... if you are paying $5 per box, I hope it's at least the size of a gigantic f34

So did I. I got the painted reflectors and the painted fender vents, paid the same for shipping and handling.

I think we are really talking about a difference of $7 here between what the shipping company would charge and what IND is charging. There is the cost of the box, and the pick up charge from the carrier. It should also be mentioned that they wrap each painted part in two chamois cloths for each part for extra protection along with the bubble wrap and those components aren't free either.

Sometimes it's best to PICK UP THE PHONE AND TALK TO A HUMAN.

I didn't buy just reflectors but I spoke to someone (it's been awhile) at IND and they waved the shipping charges.

Yes, don't forget the free micro-fiber cloths.

1) get them used from another member, you'll save on shipping and the cost of the item

2) ive heard this done before - a user asked them for a shipping discount. He said he wanted to purchase the item but it was just so expensive and they gave him a discount

Why on earth would I want to do that??

In all seriousness you are right. I tell my kids all the time to stop texting and just pick up the phone. Time to practice what I preach.

I bought a pair of reflectors and 4 spacers from Andrew, it came out to less than $300.

I received my painted reflectors, painted fender vents, and M-Sport badges three weeks before I received my Gran Coupe and was all ready to go on delivery day. I didn't put 100 miles on the car before these were all installed as I didn't want to be seen without them.

All-in including installation at a local BMW body/mod shop was $500.

This is the exact reason why I haven't gotten my sidemarker color matched yet. $85 for a painted piece of plastic is absurd. There are certainly a lot better things I can get for $85. I will try calling IND to see if they can get me cheaper shipping. If they are willing to sell an unpainted rear reflectors I need one as well. I chipped the corner installing a rear diffuser.
