Talking What Exhaust do I have?

Hey all!

I just purchased a slightly used (5k miles) 2018 340i from a BMW Dealership.

The car has a few of the cosmetic M trim packages on it. My question is, does the stock exhaust have M's on the tips? I thought that was only for the MPE.

Any idea what exhaust model this is?

My packages:
P337A
S704A
S710A
S715A

Thanks!

No kidding? So I likely have the "tune" that comes with it as well?

It should say M performance on the exhaust body if MPPSK.

Also if you have the MPPSK tune done you should have higher HP and Torque numbers on the sports displays.

Aren't those numbers dynamic? Like they change as the engine revs higher?

What would be a good benchmark to figure out if the numbers are better?

He means you're screen will have higher max numbers. For 335 n55 engines stock your sport display says 300 and 300 max after mppsk the sport screen shows 320 and 320 as your max numbers .

I'm not sure what the numbers are on a b58 motor though if I had to guess 320 stock and 340 with the mppsk

If you're interested in the tune often times you can find a sticker in your engine bay that will confirm its installation and date

Max 400 HP is right for MPPSK.

Yeah, I noticed that it was super loud in sport mode. That's mostly what tipped me off that I may have the MPPSK or MPerformance Exhaust.

My sport's display shows 400 as max for both, but I don't think I have MPPSK

It's the same for both. But on stock tune, the actual indicator only goes up to 320hp. On an MPPSK car, it'll go higher. You basically have to floor it and see what the peak value was.

MPE vs. MPPSK

Hey guys, if the exhaust says 'M Performance' in black on it under the back bumper, then this is just the axel-back exhaust which is different from the exhaust that comes with the MPPSK. You can buy it for about $1,200 or so I believe. You will still have the muffler/ resonators on the exhaust.

The exhaust system that comes with the MPPSK is a full cat-back and is straight piped all the way back. It also has 'M Performance' stamped on the metal under the bumper instead of in black. The full MPPSK will also give you the small badge under the hood.

Also, all 340i's show a max of 400 hp on the sport displays.

Hope this helps!
