E30 strains the HPFP. When it’s colder and IATs are lower more fuel is delivered, which strains the HPFP even more.

Hoping to see some logs with E30 in colder weather to see what these OEM replacement pumps are capable of, or if we still have to go with higher flowing aftermarket pumps.

I run E30 on the stock HPFP year long and never had an single issue with crashing due to weather... not sure why this upgraded one would.

This brings up a question that will pull the OP back in.

I have an M2 with a Dinan turbo and I cannot run E30 when ambient is below 60F, or it will crash the HPFP (E25-26 works). That’s at around 18psi for me, which may not be for you, and when the OP said the HDP5 evo pump didn’t work on E30 was it bc of higher than 18psi boost?

There’s a lot of factors to the HPFP crashing so just trying to draw some data points.

Your perception of cold weather probably isn't shared by 2/3 of the continent.

I can't run E30 below 45f, really needs mid 60s to be good.

What tune are you running? I had this issue with the previous rev stage 2 E30 OTS map from bm3. The most recent tune implemented revised boost and fueling targets. I'm running E30 now, was 45F this morning and enjoyed a bit of spirited driving with now issues. I have also run many logs to redline with no crashing, whereas before crashes after 6k RPM were frequent. On a side note, I'm running meth now to give a little headroom on fueling.

I was running BM3 Stg 2H E30 5.5 & 5.7 maps from Halim and would have HPFP crash issues when ambient was below 60F.

I’m now running OTS Stg 2 E30 5.8 with E26 (E30 in summer), but now that we’re getting cooler weather I’ll try upping to E30 based on your feedback.

Thanks!

with hdp5evo you can max out the stock turbo on a M2 n55 and Emix
if you go aftermarket turbos , you need a bigger one like the hdp6 or xdi or else

Got it.

Have you tried running a high Emix with your HDP6 to see how it holds up?

Well, I tried E26 tonight while it was 54F ambient and was getting HPFP drop outs above 6k RPM. Lowered to E25 and no drops, but HPFP is going down to 1400psi.

I wasn’t watching boost levels, but MAF is hitting right below 44 lb/min so I’m just finding the limit of the stock HPFP.

Anyone finding the HPD6 pumps for <$500?

I snagged one for less than $500. I would search ebay.de it brings up more options for BMW parts.

Not sure it would be cost effective. After time and materials, margins would be too close to current/up coming options which provide higher flow rate

This is more for the DIY'r . 🍻

the work done to it is actually pretty easy , the pictures speak for themselves .
just take your time for it , i'm gonna talk to nv from that you tube movie and ask them how they overcame the connector/intake prob , did they do the same approach or found something else

Would there be any reason why my car would be running rough after putting in the evo pump in? It's on stage 2 BM3. Ran fine on my n55 pump now it's running really rough. Any coding has to be done?
