Hi all,

I am in the process on updating (some of) my cars ECUs, following the F11 guide. However at step 15, it says to select boxes “ blFlash, swDeploy, cdDeploy, and ibaDeploy”, but upon Load TAL (step 10), most of the columns below disappear and I am left with only ‘swDeploy and cdDeploy’, see below. What is happening here, or what am I doing wrong? I don’t dare to continue at this stage.

your svt_tal is not calculate right.
probably you did not select the right i step shipment.

I just had another go at it. I’m quite sure I selected the correct istep “shipment” (not last or actual right?). But result is the same. Any other thoughts?

Try another E-Sys version.

Thanks for the response. So small update, I’ve tried almost every version of E-sys, 3.27, 3.28, but those two didn’t detect the istep levels, I guess too old for the latest psdzdata. Then I’ve tried .30/.31/.33/.33(64bit) all of then give me the same result as seen above. Then I decides to switch from psdzdata 4.25.40 to 3.63.3(2017), still Esys 3.30.1 gave (false) result, but now E-sys 3.27.1 gave me this:



That looks more like it. Luckily my main goal was flashing the DME due to some VO coding, in which I succeeded now. But still it would be nice to be able to update all modules to the latest psdzdata level. Where to proceed from here?

It's because when calculating the SOLL & TAL based on the PSDZData loaded and the istep shipment, that will dictate which ECU's will be updated.

No that’s not the issue. Issue is when using E-sys 3.27.1 + older psdzdata I get a correct flash screen with all options (blFlash, swDeploy, cdDeploy, and ibaDeploy etc.), but when using Esys 3.30.1+ and the latest psdzdata I get only swDeploy, cdDeploy when selecting the calculated TAL. Hence I cannot update to latest psdzdata, but I don’t why. Seems like an issue with either E-sys or the latest psdzdata? Ideally I would use E-sys 3.27.1, but that doesn’t work anymore with v4.25.40. I’m still on Win7 (64bit), could that be related?

Noticed something else, none of the CAFDs have a green check mark after pressing Read VCM when using 3.30.1 + latest psdzdata. When using 3.27.1 + older psdzdata they áre green.

With the help of Wibbles, we’ve discovered that the behavior of E-sys 3.30+ is normal. It only shows the options that require a change. ibaDeploy is also only for NBT. And blFlash is missing, because there is no bootloader update available.
