B47 Cuts out whilst driving

Hi All,

Really need some help as im at a dead end with my car.

I have a 4 series 420d, 2015 b47 engine.

a few months ago it was coming down the motorway and recieved a drivetrain error. basically limped home and it failed to ostart when it did start it cut out all over the place.

It went to a BMW specialist who said HPFP failed and would cost 6k to repair as they wanted to replace everything in the fuel system.

I bought a HPFP from a breaking from a known running car and it still wouldnt start, long story short i had the injectors tested after that and it would appear the leak back was 100% on two and 80% on the other two.

Again i replaced the injectors and it fired up no problem and would drive to 3k and then go into limp mode. I drove the car and did 2k miles and then booked it into a diesel specialist. They couldnt shed any light on this but did an injector test at the cost of 250 quid and said they were perfect, been in the tank and everything is clean.

So i take the car away then i few days later i was coming down the M! and it cut out on me and wouldnt start again, i checked the tank as t hey had been in there and no fuel, so they had damaged the fuel sender unit. I put fuel in the car and it would fire on the button qnd drive but any type of fuel demand it would "DriveTrain Error" and then cut out.

I then wen back to the breakers and decided to replace everything. From injectors to the LPFP ncluding all sensort.

Again the car start on the button, and drive but cut out. If stationary it will rev up but now and then after revving it will hunt misfire then idle fine.

Has anyone got any ideas. I have spent 100 pound at a bmw specialist, 300 at a diesel specialist plus all parts so £1000 + into it and i have a car that will start and cut out whilst driving.

Anybody got any ideas, i am in two mind whether to put my original HPFP in as i knew 100% this worked before the injectors went down.

I just through if i replace everything with known working parts i will sort it.

Could this be air in the system? just dont see why the car running out of fuel would make it then undrivable

Do the systems self bleed when running?
