Thule Roof Ravi Carrier for GT?

Wondering if any GT owners are using a Thule Rack and carrier system? If so what model/size carrier did you buy? Seems like even the shortest carriers (67”)look like they will overhang the windscreen a bit, given you need rear clearance for the hatch to open.

I am going to head to REI later to see what they have but given the GT is not exactly a common car I am not sure what experience they have of fitting it.

Any thoughts/suggestions much appreciated!

FYI you can adjust the opening height of the hatch if you need more clearance.

I don't have a carrier, not needing one for cargo space is one of the reasons I bought a GT. I've had them on smaller cars, overhanging the windshield isn't a problem. I've seen one on a GT in town, it doesn't overpower the car with its size.

Thanks for the responses. Yes this would just be for the few times a year we are going to do a family road-trip. Will allow us more room to bring golf clubs etc..

Thule is mainly aimed at the skier market, that's why they're so long. A smaller, not to mention much less expensive box like this may be better:

Thanks for the photo - that’s just like my car - same color and wheels! What model carrier box and what length is that?

Swiss cargo from Academy sports.
Was pretty cheap at around $200 bucks

Easy setup, fit 4 suitcases easy.
Not sure the exact size, but had to drill an extra hole on each side because the rails are so far apart. Originally bought it for our RAV4.
Comes off in 5 min. Easier than taking off the rails.

I recently picked up a Yakima Skybox 12, plenty of room to fit all kinds of stuff and long enough for skis. I went with the 12 so I can still fit two bikes on the roof as well as the box.
