i see a golf r(307 bhp) 0-60 4.4s(great for a 2l engine) at a ramp which is 30mph and i am slightly behind his car.

Both of us floor it and I overtake and we are neck and neck until 50mph but after that my 335d's torque was too much for it (though the gt is much heavier) and i pulled away ahead .

what hadn't crossed my mind was that my fuel was in reserve and after driving 5 miles the drivetrain warning came on and i spluttered on to the hard shoulder.

A few seconds later he passed me and saw me on the hard shoulder. He must have thought thank god mine isn't a BMW so fragile etc.

Had to call out RAC and they put in diesel and i had to leave the ignition on for 30 seconds until the air cleared from the lines and diesrl came in and car started and is driving fine.

But dear golf R owner god is on your side man.

that is a completely different take on the situation and yes if the fuel had run out while overtaking etc it could have been dangerous. Point taken bill as I know you mean well.

I do get up to highway speed well before the actual merge, not to beat out someone already on the highway, but to merge seamlessly. Few things bug me more than someone getting on the highway in front of me while still traveling 20 MPH less than I am, so I have to brake to avoid running up their backside. When I'm the one on the highway and I see a merging car speeding up with the intent of getting to the merge before I do I never respond in kind. Knowing that I could leave the wanker in the dust if I had a mind to is sufficient.

when I saw the quad exhaust in front of me something inside of me flipped. My desire to establish myself as the alpha wanker was further emboldened when I sensed he was flooring it as well. I just can't be as reasoned and peaceful as you.
