Fidelity Platinum Warranty

Im in the process of purchasing well spec'd 2018 440i X-Drive. Car has everything besides ACC, Track Handing Package, & heated rear seats with only 7.9k miles. Dealer is offering me a Fidelity Platinum warranty for $2486. Covers me for 5 years, 60,000 miles. Im just wanted to get some opinions on if it makes sense to get this warranty with such a low mileage car.

Factory warranty ends in December btw.

Thanks in advance.

How much is left on the original BMW Warranty? (Oop! My bad. just saw that info) Is the 5 yrs and 60K in addition to the existing warranty or just the combined total? Read the small print carefully.

I gave brief overview of extended warranty options here:

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...7&postcount=16

Definitely check the fine print on Fidelity, best to request a blank sample of the warranty contract to review the entire terms and conditions.

When I bought my 2010 Jetta TDI, I also purchased a VW Drive Easy warranty that was administered by Fidelity Warranty Services. The Gold Plus tier I purchased was specific component coverage. It more than paid itself, but I was very proactive about using the warranty (think Doug DeMuro and his Range Rover).

For your car, since it's in original warranty, may still qualify for the BMW OEM ESC. The Platinum Tier would get you coverage till Dec 2024 and 100K on the odo. Reach out to GOLFFRR as he is a forum sponsor offering BMW OEM ESCs at discounts.

I believe it's 60k additional miles as it starts as soon as I purchase it. In 5 years I'll probably be under 60k miles regardless anyway though.

Thanks for the info. Will definitely read the full contract & report back. From what I understand, it's bumper to bumper platinum exclusionary coverage. Price seems good it's actually that. I can't just spending potentially double on BMWs coverage when it's impossible for me to reach 100k miles in 3 years, I'd have to do 30k miles a year. I average about 10k miles now & I thought I drove a lot.

I'll def reach out to the forum sponsor as well as passport BMW in MD. Apparent Passport BMW offers deep discounts as well.

Shop around. 3rd party warranty plans are cash cows for those who sell them.
