When compiling an individual firmware, they are ascending. Ver 1.1 / 1.2 and so on. The extreme version will be the most evil. You use it in races. You just put the middle version to ride.

When you say individual firmware, does that mean custom tune? And to clarify, are you saying a custom tune will have a couple different versions to run off of?

For example I run my custom map at 600whp/600wtq for a few weeks/month to have fun but then I switch back to an ots stage 2 or stage 2+ for the most part to put less strain on the engine/fuel system. Especially during a track event I would not want to constantly push the limits.

Thanks in advance!
Apparently it's not recommended to run an OTS tune on a different turbo.
So if you want to lower the load/stress on the engine then maybe use the option reduce boost by gear.
BM3 has that option not sure about MHD: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...1&d=1583507567

That's a good point, I forgot about the boost reduction. I think MHD offers that. I was just thinking, to max out GC turbo, that means an e85 mix, whether it's e40/e50 which I do not want to run 24/7 even with boost reduction. I might just have to eat it up and purchase a second custom map for 93 octane. Thanks for the reply

Also I'm assuming that on 93 the horsepower gain with the GC won't be much more than with stock turbo, but I could be wrong
Most tuners offer additional maps for another ~$100 or so. For example, I'm working with Wedge on my E50 map which will be my summer/kill mode map. For another $100 I'll do a 93 or E15 map that I can run in the winter and won't be so hard to start when it's cold out.

This is what it looks like in Virtual Dyno:
- Red is the OTS map
- Blue is your tuner's base map
- Green is your tuner's latest revision

(I remember from another post that according your tuner you had a boost leak or something?)

I received this map right after the GREEN map (Turbine base seems different from this map)
https://datazap.me/u/jptsunga/b58-vtt-gc?log=0&data=3-5

As soon as I flashed to this map, it was apparent that it was slower. Looked at the logs and the boost curve was very smooth compared to the previous (previous had a big dip in boost from spool to like 5k rpms). I thought he lowered the boost to optimize the boost better, but then he said I might have a boost leak.

So I went to local shop to check for boost leaks and they didn't find anything. Then I went to the Vargas shop so they can run their tests and they also couldn't find anything.

Then I asked my tuner if I can flash back to the previous map which I logged again (GREEN) and those logs seemed consistent with the original logs.

Finally hit the dyno today. Wasn't an easy day...28 pulls and 6 hours later we determined that i probably have a small boost leak. Still not disappointed with my numbers. Will be even better once I pin down this leak.

Great! Thanks for sharing!

I assume you did 28 runs for finishing the tune and not just to get the numbers
To be honest I did expect a bit better top end or could that be due to the small boost leak?

I'm just going to run the ots stage 2 93 tune for daily driving. I don't need to tempt myself to push the car too hard ALL the time lol.

Yes, that was to polish off the tune. It was being a finicky b**** yesterday and kept fluctuating on boost (hence the boost leak theory). Also had so many pulls because bm3 logging was freezing and clipping out half of my logs intermittently 😕

Dyno tech also said i would have better numbers if the engine were cooler and we hadn't just done 28 runs. He told me when I figure the boost issue out I could swing by and run a free baseline to get an accurate printout 👍 (nice guy; was a big fan of the restaurant that I am the Chef of lol he's also going to hook me up with a good buy on 55gal drums of e85 so I dont have to drive 40 miles to get it!)

I haven’t traveled to Dynostend yet, but based on the results, we can estimate the power on the GC turbine.
0-100 -3.1s; 1/4 -10.7s; 100/200 -6.32s; 1/8 -6.93s; 1/2 -16.90s; 0 / 200-9.67s; 200/250 - 6.19s;
60 / 130ml - 7.35s. 0 / 60ml- 2.94s.
I think it equals 540 / 550whp.
Who has better or similar results to this turbine?
Fuel 100Ron + WMI. TU. Boost 23/24psi, timing 13/14.
