I feel like someone with a falling apart Daewoo would feel really bad for you. No, probably not actually

Enjoy a sweet ride...

I thought good lease incentive wouldn't last long.
so I hurried to a nearby dealer and they provided fairly good discount. But there were only a few Gran coupe version 440 left on their lot, not a single coupe.

(understandable the coupe looks much stylish and cooler. and sells better. So at the close-out sale, only slowly selling GC left on their lot which not many people would buy here in California)

I thought this incentive wouldn't last long so I just picked up one of their leftover 440 GC with M sport package.

I didn't have a coupe on their lot to compare at that time. Around that time I though there might not be much difference between coupe and GC except for two extra doors.

But later on, when I saw a coupe parking not far away from my GC, I see couple looks way much better than GC. GC is like a combination of 3 series wagon and 4 series coupe design. but the combination result may be even worse than F30 sedan's look? I start to regret I should have stick to my original plan with coupe. The GC is so much less beautiful and cool than coupe.

the dings on the look of GC I found
1. smaller front door and tiny rear door makes it a little funny when door opened
2. worse side view from smaller front door window
3. lifted roof line makes its rear silhouette swelled and beefy, this makes GC more like a sport wagon, other than coupe, or like... a coupe that loses control of its diet?
4. fitting 4 doors into a body originally designed for coupe finally somewhat kills the overall look of coupe. all doors have to be cut shorter than normal. but a coupe should have longer sleek doors shouldn't it?
5. I just feel 4GC and 4 coupe are different cars. In my opinion, in terms of looking, 4GC looks closer to F30 sedan than F32 coupe. Maybe GC shouldn't have been placed into 4-series lineup?
6. overall coupe is cooler than boring sedan look of GC.

I don't really need "practicality" as single and no kids.
You really should have gone with a 1-door model.

Lots of responses already, but I'll add my 2 cents. As an F30 owner, I actually somewhat prefer the lines on the 4-er GC. It really is subjective though.

Sounds like a bit of an impulse buy, OP should have done more research. Plenty of pics here and online to see the differences between the F32 and F36.

I actually prefer the shorter doors of a 4-door. While yes, I agree that 2 doors may be somewhat more aesthetically pleasing, getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot is definitely easier with shorter doors. Plus the GC has frameless windows, so in a really tight spot, you could roll the windows down to ease ingress/egress, and use the key fob/comfort access to close them back up after exiting; not an option on my 335.

Dont be ridiculous, the gran coupe is awesome. Sure its not as sporty as a pure coupe, but that shouldnt matter

Enjoy it love it

If you add a spoiler it can help the rear end shape, I did the oem one and it helped the sportiness a lot

I personally have and think that the F32 coupe looks better (lower/sleeker) but the F36 really isn't far behind (still a looker IMO). It also has the added practicality and let's face it, there are far worse problems to have

Large doors look nice but they are a PITA. The GC is a great looking car IMHO, but then again, I have a bias towards sedans.

So you guys would prefer a "which downpipe is best" thread over this? I like the bs banter

But then again, I'm also apparently one of the few in this thread that hate the GC i actually hate all 4-door coupes and SUV-coupes on principle, but that's an argument for another useless thread i suppose.

Joke's on him, this is actually not a bad conversation. Did he think we were all going to start measuring dicks and bitch slapping each other?

4 series GC > regular 3 series sedan IMO if you're going with the smaller 4-door BMWs. I have no idea why they're now pushing out a 2-series GC too.

6 series GC is damn sexy too (remember that frozen black one someone posted a while back?) but $$$$$$ comparatively.

I am also a fan of the GC looks. I like the Coupe look better, but the practicality of the GC is better than the Coupe. While we have a convertible 440, I'm still a fan of the looks of that car with the top up. Although, it does look best with the top down.

i miss my 4GC tremendously! I have my 330 Sedan on Swapalease right now because of it (well and because of downsizing while in grad school) but I so much rather have my 4GC back. Hoping they make a M4GC by time i finish school

This GC looks better not sure if it is color or better picture shooting

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...g=1019&slide=9

Mine is white and a lease. I thought of adding a rear spoiler
But it is a lease I am afraid those 3M glue is very hard to remove upon lease return.
It looks really good!

I highly doubt he owns a GC.
That being said, I think it looks really good. Also more practical than a coupe, it would've been harder for me to have the coupe as my only car if I was married and had kids.
