I already tried tightening the gas gap and the check engine light did come off but when i scan this still shows up. Not sure what the other issue is "system too lean". Any help?[IMG][/IMG]

I would take a look at O2 sensors. That's usually what causes lean engine codes.

Yes, I'm not too familiar with BMW codes as I'm still in my first vehicle. But I've gotten similar diagnoses on my Lexus vehicles. You should have a trusted mechanic run some tests on your O2 sensors. My apologies if I'm incorrect.

It's probably a defective Tank Leakage Diagnosis Module. It's a common problem, so much so that BMW extended the warranty on that part to 10 years/100k miles.

OP, you cleared these codes and they returned?

Otherwise, if the CEL went off and you didn't clear the codes, the car might just be waiting for you to complete a drive cycle or two?

For the tank leakage diagnosis do i call the dealer to see if its been fixed in my car or do they have to diagnosis it as the issue first? Also the cel didn't come back on once i clear it but if i hook up my scan tool again and scan the codes still there but the cel doesn't come on

I'll give it another try. It's probably a bad Tank Leakage Diagnosis Module.

A bad module shows up on a scan as a system leak when there is no leak. The defective module is sending a false positive. It's possible that you have a intermittent fault that comes and goes. If the dash light doesn't come back on that would probably be the reason why.
