I was over £150 to fill the Cayenne with V Pwr Diesel a week ago.

As you say it is getting totally out of order.

I used to put V power in mine, these days I chuck in some millers on each fill. Can't say I've noticed a difference between the additive and the premium fuel.

I would always use super unleaded with my previous cars, (turbocharged petrols) as the engine mapping was such that they gave best performance with high octane fuels, pulling back on boost and retarding the ignition when lower grade fuel was used.

However, from my reading, there is no performance benefit to these costly Diesel fuels. I'm on the cheapest supermarket Diesel myself. About once a year I put in a tin of the BMW Diesel additive.

I know of a Shell thats 141.9 for Reg and 151.9 for VP diesel..... My local Tesco is 152.9 for reg diesel....
No prizes for guessing where I go !
Crude is now knocking on the door of 100$ a barrel.... it is going to get worse yet.

VPower diesel makes my engine quieter and I have seen an inlet manifold on these diesels where the owner lived on supermarket fuel and compared it to mine. It might not give too much difference in performance but it definitely keeps the engine in better shape.

Well, mine made as many Bhp on a dyno as many others (both before and after remap), so it can't be coking up the manifold that much.

I believe the use the car is put to is as much at fault as anything for the coking issues.

I filled up on v power petrol today at £1.65 p/l - £100 tank……wtf

Will go back to Costco premium with a shot of millers next fill. That’s £15-£20 a tank difference so v power is officially not worth it in my book!!!

This was my view when I had a 330d … ‘super’ diesel definitely for cleaning
