At the risk of getting political, one fiasco after another and no mud sticks to them by lowering expectations of the whole nation to such a level that paying more for a lesser service/products and accepting a much lower quality of life than before.
Displaying a stunning degree of incompetence that makes the public expect nothing from them at all itself is the main competence on show. |

I am ashamed to be British and associated with this cabal. Thank goodness for the GFA and my ability to let my British passport expire and take an Irish one for the first time.
For those of you watching the nonsense about the NI Protocol, NI has no supply chain problems because business has mostly adapted and is getting supplies via Ireland from the EU as it is still in the single market. It benefits both from being part of the UK and in the single market. Frosty the snowman is kicking up an unnecessary stink to digress from the other chaos in the UK. An Irish passport has other benefits. I can travel to Europe easily via Dublin which is two hours away on an £8 airport express. And enter Europe via reopen.eu with an EU DCC (Digital Covid Cert) issued via the Irish Health board despite having been double vaxed in the UK. |

Problem is the alternative is just as bad with labour and don't get me started on the SNP. Politics is a complete mess for the foreseeable future very sad

I managed to get some V Power at the local Shell last night for the first time since things kicked off. Was down to 90 miles remaining and paid 158 a litre to fill up. We'll be heading home to N Yorkshire at the weekend so heaven knows what petrol will cost at the Peterborough services on the A1, or will it be that prices north of Watford are more sensible than in the rip-off south?
....come to think of it, we'll be taking the other half's car so doesn't matter as she'll be paying for it

Back home in London after a month in Cornwall. No problem getting petrol here, maybe I've been lucky?

I'm sure you did the right thing, you had a lot of good reasons at the time.

Not intended to wind you up, Sennen, but rather because I know you appreciate the beauty of the place, here's Sennen Cove from the cliffs at Gwynver, taken a few days ago. Enjoy.

Au contraire it is lovely to see some great pictures of the area TodmordenLad
If I didnt have a busy week ahead of me I would be tempted to jump in the car and see if I could get a few nights at the 'Old Success'. Not quite the same but I am off with a mate on his boat fishing off the 'Needles' this weekend which should be interesting |

What is the average price of fuel at the moment?
Esso in Fort William, was showing 1.449 for petrol and 1.499 for diesel, regular fuels, just yesterday. I know we have gone up 4 or 5 pence in the last week or so. |

Ouch! I'll remember to fill the car up before heading up the road then if we do head up that way on Saturday, although the weather's looking pretty crap for the weekend unfortunately anyway. For some reason I always had you as east rather than west!

I paid 145.9 for momentum at the Tesco last weekend, I only ever buy fuel from there as it’s convenient, I only really noticed as it was over £90 which I can’t remember paying that much before.
