Last LED strip added - not optimal, the small width of the trim at the passenger side is obstructed by the LED, so can't push into place, probably need to do some surgery on the acrylic LED strip

Redid wrapping of the interior from cheapo vinyl matte black to 3M matte black

I also redid the AC-trim lightning - probably not visible in pictures, but better in person

(also added a new magnetic phone mount, just double sided 3M one)

Very nice, where did you get the yellow seatbelts from.. thinking about doing the same... could go nicely with my freshly painted yellow brakes..

Just ordered a new steeringwheel with a yellow 12 o clock stripe, further mods.. 6WB digi tacho, leather dash , real carbonfibertrim, complete F80 M3 seats and rears made to fit.

I switched from alcantara to leather.
It was not going to hold up to me eating French fries 😆.

For me, never alcantara again, had it at the OEM performance II wheel, after half a year of regular usage the look went not very well and the effort to keep the alcantara clean and tidy was no match for me in the opposite of cost of the whole thing.

Not really, no. No more than the radio ambient or door ambient does.

Edit: don’t forget it’s right behind the idrive screen so frankly you don’t even notice it, idrive completely washes it out.

Looks nice, does it match the same brightness of the radio surround and door cards?

Also where did you get it from ?

Hi, I don't know if it matches the OEM door card lighting or AC surrounds, as I my car didn't come with any lighting. I added aftermarket lighting to the door cards, AC-trim, footwell, airbag-indicator and center console:

I bought it on aliexpress:

Hope it helps

After some digging and using others research I figured out how to control the bluetooth aftermarket LEDs with a esp32 devkit board instead of using a sh1tty app.

Added a color/effect toggle button that also turns it off by long pressing and a brightness toggle button which also resets the esp32 board by a 3s long press

That's pretty cool. Does it connect vie Bluetooth or is it hard wired for controlling the LEDs?

Hi, it connects via Bluetooth automatically I mainly edited a code example from the esp32/Arduino IDE for the bluetooth connection and added the button behavior - in order to connect to it, you need to get the BLE Service ID and Char ID via an app, I used BlueLight.

I've posted my code:
https://github.com/siz-/esp32-BLE-led-controller

The hardware is esp32 DOIT Devkit v1 and a LM2596 DC-DC step down converter to power it from the 12v cigarette socket -> 5v.
