I’ve reused my wheel loom so I’m wondering if it’s not present on that (item 5 above needs swapping maybe).

I’ve added the button, added the wheel, added the module, coded and get “steering wheel heating activated/deactivated” on dash as expected - just no heat!

Edit to add. 100% it is that I don’t have the correct loom. For anyone else stumbling on this thread in years to come, f you’re interested Part 32307848337 is what I’ve ordered - steering wheel loom for cars with lane departure/heated wheel. 👍

What if you do not have lane departure warning on car. I added heated msport wheel (car was standard with msport), button and module. coded via bimmercode and light comes on button but no heat. The module does have another single wire coming off it with no place to go. I assume this would be for vibrator? please help.
Yes that is where it would go. Did you ensure you bought a heated steering wheel? That's the only thing that would make sense I do believe that just the heating element would work without the vibrations assist.

It is for sure a heated wheel. Should I shut off the vibrate in Bimmercode?
I feel like its in my head that the wheel gets somewhat warm, but I just don't know. I feel my brothers F80 wheel and it is very warm. You would think since the light is working that it should heat the wheel either way.

any help would be much appreciated.

this is what i coded

FEM_BODY
3140 PFLinSteeringWheel
CODDT_BYTE_00_SZL_LIN = LHZ_aktiv
LIN_VARIANTE_LRE = lre_tlc_lhz
LIN_VARIANTE_SZL = szl_4Band
LRE_Verbaut = aktiv

I don't know about the coding but I would code out vibration just to cancel that as a possibility also the heating element controller could have gone bad multiple threads about that.

figured it out. it needs to be jumped to the blue wire on RH side. Either direct into SZL or at controls.
BIG THANKS TO HAWKO!!!

How to connect to LIN

Could someone help me with connecting the Steering Wheel Electronics Module to the LIN?
I found one with 4 connectors on the wiring harness, and one that connects to the module itself. Below pictures from the wiring harness and the connector to the controls on my steering wheel.

Doughboy wrote about this in post 140, but I didn’t understand.

For Power I used the solution of david51.

Hello, I have a question, on my 2017 f30 I retrofitted a heated m sport steering wheel, when I try to plug in the Switch for turning on the heating into A83*5B on the SZL it has no pins in only the hole is present...
The car does not have LDW or lane asist or radar cruise control. New gear change pedals work tho.

You have to find a new SZL that supports the heated steering wheel.

Heated Steering Wheel Button

Hi, my F22 has lane departure warning and I plan to retrofit the heated steering wheel function.

I wanted to install a generic button (OEM is too expensive imo). As I understand the original button has 3 pins: LED Power, button power and ground.

Does anyone know if I need a actual button (just a electrical signal when pressed) or a "switch" button?

It's just a momentary make push button contact, i.e. it is closed when you press the button then it opens again.

I did everything according to this post and unfortunately the heating doesn't work. The problem is that I can't buy SZL anywhere for F31.
My SZL is not prepared for heated steering wheels. According to the instructions, the power pins were blown, I used the pins in the airbag plug, the power supply of the module is, however, the coding is done, and the heating does not work. Maybe there is another solution?
The entire heated steering wheel assembly is operational. Because it currently works for me on SZL with F33, but I have no rear wiper and FLA function.
