F30/F31 N47 DPF End of life code
Today at 169,650 miles I got a CEL that indicated the DPF is now at the end of it's life.
Upon start up, the yellow triangle is on the dash and the display prompts me to go the dealer for service. I called the dealer. The SA claims they have never had a N47 car reach the end of life on the DPF. I'm also the first and only, according to them, to need three transfer cases! I work in the trucking industry and there are companies that regenerate DPFs for the trucks. Does anyone know if there is a company that can do this for the N47 DPF? Are there any aftermarket DPFs for this car? The best price I can find online for OEM is $2100. No, I'm not interested in DPF deletes, tunes, etc. I live in CT and they fail a car that deletes anything. Honestly, a gutted DPF and a tune are my last resort. I want to keep the car stock and running as clean as possible. Do I suck it up and throw another $2k at a $10k car? |

That value can be reset in ecu, whether by chip editing or maybe via diagnostics, and the dpf can be refreshed in the same way, I would think.

I cannot force a regen any longer or clear the code
Maybe someone with the right program can reset the ecu, The back pressure and ash content are actually pretty good compared to what I've read on other threads. Some in ON listed the name of a company in Windsor that they had their DPF cleaned for $250. I'm going to call them tom'w. Hopefully someone in the states has had it done by a state side company. |

If I remember correctly there are two CEL's for this, both mileage based that tell you that "your DPF" is probably nearing end of life. Not that it is having true efficiency issues. I would get a reader that can check regens and ash mass and see if you still have life in your DPF before replacing it

IIRC the EOL is a modeled value and not necessarily indicative of actual EOL. As it gets more towards actually EOL/full you should see regen frequency go up (since the pressure differential sensors will hit their regen threshold sooner).
